Predictable, too easy of a read that I started skipping places. Did not keep my interest.
Elle says she booked the week for them to have fun. No she didn't, it was to push him into going and facing the people he didn't want to. Really, she can cry over something he says he don't want to go to and she has set it all up, then can't believe he walks out! Elle says they should talk about everything, yet she goes behind his back.
Best parts of book was Max and baby with the troubles they may have (can't wait for their book) and Charlie's story.
You could skip this book and still keep up with the series.
Finally the story of Gavin Guthrie and Ella Abbott that I have been waiting for! We have been teased with the attraction these two have for each other in previous books, but, Gavin has continued to push Ella away. Gavin can't seem to get over his brother’s death over 7 years ago and he doesn’t want to bring Ella down into his dark abyss.
As the story begins, Ella is on a date with Ben & Jerry (ice cream). She is so depressed by being rejected so many times by Gavin and has loved him for so long that she is wondering how will she move on. She then finds out that she is Gavin’s ICE (in case of emergency) and is called from the Red biker bar to come and get Gavin before he is arrested.
Of course she goes and brings him back to her house. This is when they finally begin to have some dialog about their feelings and why Gavin has pushed her away. Of course both have a lot of insecurities and therefore a lot of inner dialog on why this relationship will never work. Ella is determined that if this time doesn’t work, she will move on, ‘if she can’. There is of course
As Ella and Gavin begin their journey, we get to catch up with all the others in Green Mountain, both Abbott’s and Guthrie’s, Ms. Abernathy (Ella’s nosy neighbor) and perhaps there may be a new Abbott baby born.
I really enjoyed this story a lot, but, my favorite couple is still Will and Cameron (book1). We all have our favorite even though we would never give up any of the other installments we have read.
This is a great love story of how maybe two people can find their way. Oh, did I mention the HOT HOT passionate SEX? Don’t miss this one.
Ella and Gavin have quite a different story in terms of how they met and how their relationship came to be. I enjoyed how different and unique their relationship was as versus that of her siblings. They are both very strong characters who have been through a lot of ups and downs together and apart. How their relationship grows and becomes lasting is an interesting and unique story. I like that their relationship starts pretty early in the book and that they work through so many things together. Very different from the normal plot lines of meet, get together, come apart then get together for good.
The other thing I really liked in this novel was the quotes used at the beginning of each chapter. They were well chosen and matched the scenes very well. They were quite poignant and meaningful.
The one thing that I have come to dislike about many of the series books by Marie Force is the quick and continual focus on sex from almost day one and then continually throughout the novel. It is as if half the novel is sex related versus story and character related. Since she always has such wonderful characters and plotlines, it is frustrating to have those interrupted for more sex scenes as vs the other way around. Thus, making those scenes more meaningful as vs half the focus of the book.
All in all, I enjoyed this Green Mountain series novel a great deal. I enjoyed catching up with the other siblings as well as with Max and the birth if his son and where he goes from here. The characters and the Abbot family are always such wonderful people to catch up with and always bring laughter, love and a feeling of being a part of their family with them.
