Review

It's a Shame is the exciting conclusion to It's a Crime & wraps up all the loose ends of the first novel in an equally well written, head spinning reveal of sinister plans, unexpected connections, and, of course, a happy ever after.

C.E. Hansen, a gifted writer, has created a story so well written and methodical in the telling of a complicated plot. Not only is she adept at creating sexual angst and tension, she's masterful at creating a vision with mystery & intrigue. As with the first novel in this series, I'm giving it high marks. Susan Byrum, Voella - Voice of Women's Entertainment

There are reads you come across that you just wish would never end. C.E. Hansen provided that in It's a Shame. After reading It's A Crime, and learning about it's sickening twist, I didn't expect the craziness that followed in this sequel. The plot thickened and the new players made for one incredible storyline. I was hooked!

Overall, the magnitude of this book is deserving of a 5 star review. There wasn't a single detail overwritten. I enjoyed the author's writing style and creativity. She's blown me away and I encourage everyone to read her masterpieces. CC

About the Author

C.E. Hansen is an American writer. She also writes under the pseudonyms C.E. O'Brien for her young adult series, Hero. The first installment UNLIKELY HERO is available on Amazon.

C.E. wrote her first romance novel at age fourteen when she discovered writing about boys and girls was way easier than actually having a relationship of her own. Since that time, her communication skills haven't improved, but she likes to think her writing has. After earning an associates degree in literature from WC, she worked in a bus company, a law office and a wine/gourmet food shoppe, but she never abandoned writing.

She's a proud mother of a beautiful daughter, lives in New Jersey with her husband and Maltese Zoe, and if she's not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching cable television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to chocolate.

C.E. Hansen's debut novel IT'S A CRIME was released May 2013, her follow up novel IT'S A SHAME, was released November 11th, 2013. ACT ACCORDINGLY was just released July 16, 2014. EVER, SARAH is due to release on December 1st, 2014.

If you want to read more posts like this one or follow her insane journey to debut authorhood, you can find her here...indulging in her passions...

Cole Greyson! Wow! I loved this sequel. Ms. Hansen opened it up with a bang (total pun intended) and it was hot! In this second installment, Grace and Cole face new challenges, ones that are just as twisted and suspenseful as the others in book one.

I remember my heart sinking when I read the poem that was attached to the package she got delivered to her with a grisly item in it. I love how Cole and Grace never give up on one another because they deserve their fairy tale after everything that has been thrown their way, and it's tons of crazy turns and many insane people!

Steamy sex, undeniable chemistry, love, suspense, thrill, and angst is the perfect combination for a read that will leave you turning the pages until the early hours of the morning. Did I mention a whirlwind of emotions? Yes, there is... you will laugh, want to cry, and your heart will pace faster while reading the hot scenes as well as the ones that will make your belly turn in suspense. A fabulous combination for a great read!

I love how Ms. Hansen writes. It's so real and she tells this story in such a way where I feel like I am there, seeing what they see and feeling what they feel. She writes in such a way where it's easy for you to get lost in the story. I loved this book just as much as the first and I look forward to more of her work in the future. Kudos! A definite 5 star must read!

C.E. Hansen’s follow-up to It's A Crime (Blood and Tears, #1), It's A Shame (Blood and Tears, #2), is just as sexy and suspenseful as it’s predecessor. It’s A Shame picks up shortly after the craziness that became Grace Preston's life left her both physically and emotionally beat . If I loved the mystery that drove the plot in It’s A Crime, I loved the passion and connection that Grace and Cole developed even more. I looked forward to seeing this deepen and heartily believed that the adversity they faced would only bring them closer. But there is no ONLY about it. It’s A Shame delivers a look at the complexity of Cole Grayson and Grace Preston’s scorching love affair after they are dragged down a dark path and are well into working on healing each other and themselves.

The story continues with this Cole and Grace facing the anxiety of trying to combine their lives ( easy enough, right?) and unfortunately, the remnants of the trauma they experienced at the hands of Grace’s brother. Grace is in a recovery stage, trying to move past being terrorized. She’s left off balance and at times, it’s hard to champion her character. I realised that as I was finding myself less enchanted with Grace, due to her many mood swings, that it was exactly how I should be feeling. The author captures the dreaded sense of panic and anxiety to perfection. She’s frail and yet so hyped up with what she thinks and feels. She’s well into that feeling of insanity that stress brings about. She becomes her own enemy and all too quickly she’s pushing Cole past his limit and alienating herself.

What of Cole? We know he is not a man to be trifled with. We get a bit more of his past and not surprisingly it comes back to haunt him.

It’s a Shame is the follow up novel to It’s a Crime by C.E. Hansen. Listed as a romance novel, it is the second and final book of Blood and Tears series.
While It’s a Crime focus on Grace and her background, It’s a Shame gives the reader lots of Cole. And, oh yeah, lots and lots of swooning moments.
I love this book for many reasons, so let’s break it down:
Well written, steamy and romantic scenes, likable characters, well developed plot, perfect couple chemistry, **sighing moments (by that I mean the author reached deep inside my soul and pulled at my heartstrings. Yes, I cried.), did I say steamy sex scenes? My, oh my! Add suspense and mystery to the mix and voila, perfection.
I like a book that leaves me at the edge of my seat, wondering what will come next. Hansen has the talent to surprise the reader with a balanced approach to romance, suspense, and thriller.
Favorite quote: “Until the dictionary is rewritten, I’m afraid all I have is ‘thank you’.” Which is a perfect way for me to end this review. Thanking the author for writing such a marvelous book. For writing a heroine that is not perfect, but that is honorable, generous, and likable. And for writing a hero that is intense, hot, passionate, and kind.
This is a perfect conclusion to the journey of Grace and Cole. A story that will stay with me for a long time.
Five thrilling stars! A must read.

I enjoyed the second part to this series as much as the first. I did not work out the mystery until right before it was revealed. As much sexy bits as the first book with lots of dirty talking and actions to back it up. Plenty of drama between and around the main characters to keep the story going.

Another great example of Smut Suspense and both books were a bargain at $0.99 each.

Sometimes I don't like a sequel but in It's A Shame the author nailed it...again! I loved this book even more than It's A Crime, the first book about Cole and Grace. Both books have everything, passion, mystery, and a friendship between Grace and her best friend Michelle that was truly beautiful. But the heart of the story is this all consuming love between Grace and Cole. Their love was erotic, intense, unconditional, full of angst at times, and gripping from page one to the end. I loved it and you will too! Don't miss out...buy both books. You won't be sorry!
