About the Author
Author and Award Winning Filmmaker Richard Martini has written and/or directed 9 indie films. A former free lance journalist for Variety, Inc.Com, Premiere and other magazines, a graduate of the Masters of Professional Writing Program at USC this is his debut non-fiction book on a topic that's been haunting him since the death of a soul mate. After a dream vision of visiting his friend in the Great Beyond, Martini went on a literary quest to find out what the prevailing science and philosophical opinions on the Afterlife are. He journeys into Tibetan Philosophy, makes documentaries in Tibet and India, and eventually is introduced to the work of the Newton Institute, founded by renowned author and hypnotherapist Dr. Michael Newton ("Journey of Souls"). The book contains interviews with numerous hypnotherapists who talk about past life regression and life between life therapy where they help patients examine their immortal identity. He documents some rather startling hypnotherapy sessions including his own, which confirms for him the research that Dr. Newton has pioneered. Touching upon quantum physics, near death experiences, the history of hypnosis and clairvoyant experiences, Martini connects them together with evidence that argues consciousness appears to exist outside of our physical selves, and is connected to our higher spiritual selves in an eternal, yet evolving manner. He discovers that life after death is a return to the source of all things, to the source of our existence, where we gather up the courage and fortitude to make another journey back to Earth with our loved ones, to examine another life where we can learn deep spiritual lessons. "We choose our parents, and together with our loved ones, choose what life we'll lead, whether difficult or not." He takes the reader through this remarkable journey in a clear, concise manner, making the trip enjoyable and easy to comprehend. As one critic put it to him recently, "This book isn't just fantastic, it's profoundly fantastic."

Rich is a unique and multi-talented man, but there are many such. He is also a very sensitive, caring soul and that is not so often found in combination with the talents. He is not, however, a publisher or editor as such. This book was self-published and it shows. There are some rough layout and typography issues. But these are not so bad as to detract from the book's overall effectiveness. Just something to be aware of when you get your copy, and I do recommmend this book very, very highly to those interested in the work of Michael Newton and his institute.
I am but 50-60 pages into the book but already I can see that this is going to be a worthy followup to his first book: Flipside. Since that book's publication, Rich has had time to really broaden his knowledge of this whole subject. Often followup books are just not as good as the first - that is not the case with this one. This second book needed to be written! The whole Michael Newton "teachings" as I call them are, imho, truly revolutionary in terms of our knowledge of what it means to be human. I am not indulging in hyperbole! This therapy can change lives. It has mine.
Well done Rich 'thou true and noble servant'!
and Rich seems to know a LOT of people! This book contains many, many, many examples of evidential personal experience of the after life.
The author cites an example each from a varied group of unrelated people; scientists.. to celebs.. to just regular you and me types. He uses his own skepticism to pose questions about these reports.. weaving each example all into a flowing, unfolding story confirming the validity of the 'afterlife'. Each example seems to be well researched. He gives references if you want to research anything further...
There were only a few times (his chapter on suicide comes to mind) when the author wrote with less scientific evidence; more with a personal opinion.. but if he wanted to ride the high horse for a moment.. that's ok. it is his book after all. I say that with love as we all ride that horse on occasion. Most of the book does not contain opinion at all. Most of the book just recounts the evidence and/or the experience of the flip-side.. including the author's own.
What I find of personal note is that both vol.1 and vol.2 seemed to be infused with an energy beyond the written word.. that as I read it seemed as if much more intuitive information came to me in.. an energetic doorway, so-to-speak, beyond the ink on the page. This intuitive voice has continued well past having finished the books.. regardless of what the actual words said.. much more seemed available. I love it when that happens!
Excellent intro to Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy
