Ultimate Long-Range Wireless Meat Thermometer
The IVAWT738 is Ivation’s newest long-range wireless meat thermometer. A 2nd-gen iteration, it introduces many new features that make your cooking and grilling much easier and far more precise, at an even greater distance. The newly improved antenna extends this thermometer’s wireless range to an astounding 325 feet – the industry’s best.
Pocket Portability for Completely Mobile Monitoring
The wireless receiver clips onto your belt or sits in your pocket, enabling you to monitor your BBQ from indoors or from across the street! While your meat is grilling, the receiver talks to the probe to update you in real time. The meat’s temperature is constantly displayed and an alarm sounds at any temp you desire for a perfect cook every time.
2 Heat-Resistant Probes for Independent Monitoring
Two premium stainless steel probes are included so you can effectively monitor two independent heat signatures at the same time. Monitor your grill’s chamber and a meat; monitor a meat and a chicken; or even monitor two cuts of meat for different levels of doneness. Each probe features a 3-foot wire that’s rated at up to an incredible 716°F.
New Larger Screen for More Info at a Glance
A newly expanded and brightly backlit screen displays both your target-high and target-low temperatures at all times – no need to press any buttons to toggle between targets. The increase in screen real estate also allows for the constant display of both probes’ feeds. At the press of a button, you can select between °F and °C temperature units.
Easier Controls & Many More Meat Type Presets
Setting your target temperatures is now even easier with the IVAWT738’s 15 NEW preset temperatures – 6 meats and 9 game meats (including beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken & turkey deer, elk, moose, buffalo, rabbit, boar, duck, bird & fish). Customizing any preset temperatures to your personal taste is blessedly simple with dedicated HI and LO buttons.
Smart Enough to Keep Track of Things for You
Have you ever burned your meat because you stepped out for just a minute and forget to monitor things? Our wireless thermometer’s wonderful loss-of-signal alert sounds an audible alarm if you remain out of range for more than 60 seconds. In addition, all your personal temperature settings are stored on the unit even when the receiver is turned off.

I got the high-temp shrink tubing so it's ready to go. Tested in the oven and works flawlessly. It does take couple of seconds to pair but after that it works great. It should be noted as others have informed that the connection between the probe and wiring does have some potential issues so preventing that problem before using seems to be a good idea. They should make improvements on it on the next model. Would have been a 5 star except i had to do a bit of DIY
Hope the customer service on the product is better. I want them to pay all shipping costs for replacement or refund.
I've used it in my smoker and in my grill as well and it seems to always read really high on the #2 Barbecue side, so i'm not really sure whats wrong with it, but the #1 Food side is great, the wireless range is great, and despite the thing being really difficult to use and figure out (i also have to resync everytime i use it), its very accurate and results in perfectly cooked food.
PRO's: Food reading is accurate, Range is incredible, usability is great (can clip it to your pants or belt or stick it in your pocket), the features are great as well!
CON's: Very difficult to figure out, have to resync the transmitter and receiver every time, #2 Barbecue reading seems to consistently read much higher than the actual temp
First, the cons:
Within a few weeks, the shroud encasing the antenna wires on both the sending unit and receiving unit broke. Just the shroud, though. The antenna wires are still intact, and I duct taped the shrouds back together and everything still functions correctly... it just looks crappy because it's duct taped together. I don't particularly care, but someone might.
Also, the receiving unit will sometimes randomly lose signal, even if I'm not moving it around. I have to pick it up and walk back towards my grill until it reacquires signal, then I can set it back where I had it and it's fine.
Price point. For the money, I'm completely satisfied. I can't compare it to another model or brand, as I don't have any experience with them.
I haven't had any issues with the probes or probe wires (knock on wood), and this thing really is fantastic for monitoring smoker temperature without having to walk back and forth all of the time to keep an eye on it.
