About J. A. McPhail

J.A. McPhail, aka Jeanne Ann or Jeannie, is a former library director from Kansas who now writes children's books and devotionals from her home near the North Carolina Mountains. Dawn of Day, released in 2012, was her first book, a middle grade historical fiction novel. McPhail next authored a memoir about her daughter, Stacie, I Will Not Fear: A Chosen Life, which was released in late 2013. A Most Remarkable Hat, Book 1 in her Trinity Tales of Tresia trilogy, is McPhail's third book released in December, 2015. Book II, A Quite Extrordinary Umbrella was released in May, 2017, and her first ebook, A Glimpse: The Truly Excellent Scepter, a short story based on the Tresia series was released exclusively on Amazon in September, 2017. The ebook begins at the end of Book II and will be continued in Book III, which will be released in 2018.

McPhail is a former newsletter and newspaper editor and columnist for her local newspaper. Jeannie collaborates with her songwriter husband, Dennis, on lyrics. Dennis is also a high school counselor, basketball, and tennis coach.

As an avid collector of old and classic books, Raggedy Ann and Andy, and statues of animals and people with books, McPhail can often be found at antique malls, flea markets, and any kind of bookstore.
