Top customer reviews
The reason why I didn't give them five stars is that if the scissors are open, you have to be careful that the halves don't separate. To clean these, you open the scissors up until a groove is aligned, allowing the halves to be pulled apart. This is great and absolutely necessary in a pair of kitchen scissors that are exposed to God knows what and must be cleaned. I wish though that the company had made the two sections a bit more difficult to separate. I wasn't paying attention one time and moved between counters in my kitchen with the scissors opened. One half dropped away and fell to the floor (the floor or my foot wasn't hurt because it landed sideways). This was clearly a case of me not paying attention, but it would be nice for a bit more separation resistance just to make the scissors more safe.
NOTE: As one other reviewer mentioned, be careful with cleaning. It sounds absurdly silly (seriously, I almost don't want to mention it), but there's something about the shape of these things when apart that makes it seem as if the sharp side would be on the opposite side that it is. Never cut myself, but I would have if I didn't know to look carefully. Just be careful, as you should anyway.
