Product Description
Overview:
The J-Tech Digital ProAV HDMI Extender/H.264 Encoder and Decoder features the most innovative technology and easy-to-use design. It is an ideal solution for different applications in different environments including home theater, church projection systems, bar screens, advertising screens, broadcasting stations, and public theaters etc.
This model features three working modes. These three modes include a point-to-point, point-to-many & many-to-many configuration. Using the point-to-point mode, an HDMI signal can be extended up to 120m (394ft) over a single Cat5E/6 cable.
With a Bi-Directional RS-232 passthrough, users can control RS-232 enabled devices, such as rotatable cameras, from a PC connected to their Transmitter.
This extender encodes and decodes HDMI signals using H.264 compression, which significantly reduces the bandwidth usage while maintaining high video quality. These H.264 extenders can be used on your home network as long as your network router supports IGMP functionality.

Fast forward beyond the return period. I hook up the transmitters and receivers on my bench to test everything on the local network before I put them out... These damn receivers do not work once they get connected to the transmitter. I tested my signal by connecting the same display to the output of the transmitter and I see the image it should be transferring.
I go back to the receiver, nothing but problems, I tinkered with the settings, one weird glitch... I click on update firmware but I don't actually have a file, the device reboots and I get the image for a split second then back to no signal and its not the no signal from the transmitter, its no hdmi output from the receiver.
I am beyond myself as I unfortunately now own 8 units... 3 transmitters and 5 receivers. I have tested all and I get similar issues.
I really wonder what I am missing.. I suspected it was IGMP multicast being blocked by the router, but it all looks good.
The one item I really like from jtech is their Jtech-Ench4, that works perfect. These other items... forget it.
When I first purchased the encoder, I accidentally bought 2 encoders instead of 1 encoder and 1 decoder. I reached out to the seller, to exchange for the correct one, and they were very quick to respond (within 15 minutes of my original message). They were very understanding and processed a refund for me so that I could get it sorted and order the correct decoder box. Some of the best service from an Amazon seller that I have ever received!
