Product Description: HDMI ARC adapter enables display that supported ARC (Audio Return Channel) to be connected with the old AV Receiver equipment to support ARC. It enables old receiver equipment to support ARC as well. Note: This device does NOT extract audio signal from the HDMI input port; it ONLY extracts audio signal coming in from the HDMI output port (sent by the ARC enabled HDMI port on the TV). when you need to use the ARC function, please confirm the CEC tuition of the display enabled and please use the standard HDMI 1.4 cable. Product Features: ·One way of HDMI signal input and output, the other way of ARC Audio (TOSLINK) signal output. ·HDMI output port support ARC (audio return channel). ·HDMI supports 4K, support CEC function. ·Support input and output up to 16 ft AWG26 HDMI standard cable length. ·The device has ARC switch and indicator light to let you know if ARC is disabled or enabled. Requirements: 1) A Dolby Digital 5.1CH / AC3 capable audio receiver, with optical audio input, because typical ARC audio is DD 5.1CH / AC3 2) A HDMI v1.4 or newer cable for ARC support 3) Use the ARC enabled HDMI input port of the TV 4) A 5V USB charger is required to power this adapter with the provided power adapter cable

I was able to get this to provide audio to my pioneer receiver via the ARC input on my Samsung TV. However when this device is connected, the CEC Anynet functionality stops. I tried multiple cables, power cycled everything several times, but could not get the CEC to function with this adapter connected. It might be an isolated situation with the components I have, but without the CEC functionality, this device does not work for me.

Edit:
After posting this review, j-tech contacted me to follow up with my concerns. They offered assistance and after determining the product I received was not functioning correctly promptly sent me a replacement that has worked great! This company is a pleasure to work.
