About J. Ryder Taff
Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Ryder Taff joined New Perspectives, Inc. in January 2011 after graduating the University of Bristol with a B.S. in Mathematics and Philosophy. After passing all three of his CFA exams, he became a Charterholder in January 2015. Ryder also passed both exams in the Certificate of Investment Performance Measurement Program, earning the CIPM designation in December 2015. He sits on the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science Foundation Board. He is an active Rotarian and board member of the Rotary Club of Madison-Ridgeland.
Ryder is co-host of Mississippi Public Broadcast's weekly radio program, Money Talks (www.mpbonline.org/moneytalks/). He also appears on Fox 40 Morning News (http://www.msnewsnow.com). Ryder regularly contributes to Parents & Kids Magazine through the column, "Mississippi Money," and is often quoted in pieces about personal finance.
Ryder's interest in investment analysis goes back to when he was eight and realized that owning part of Coca-Cola was different, and far more interesting, than merely having a cold glass bottle of Coke on a hot day. He has been reading annual reports and proxy statements ever since.
