JAK POT Studio
Potter in New York
My designs draw from a wide variety of influences, including the American folk pottery of Evans Pottery: 1858-1969 and Woodstock's Byrdcliffe Pottery Guild.
About JAK POT Studio
Julie was awarded the Anna Soik Award for Ceramics in 1999 and was the recipient of the 2009 Mary Blakeley Fellowship at the Haystack School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine. In 2010, Julie was awarded a scholarship to study wood firing at Peter's Valley School of Craft in New Jersey. She currently teaches pottery to adults at several venues in New York City.
I create functional ceramics for people to use and enjoy. In a world of mass produced throwaway takeout containers, my goal is to make unique pieces that inspire the user to slow down and enjoy the moment. Each piece is hand thrown earthenware with majolica glaze. 100% food safe and lead free. Each piece is American Made at JAK POT Studio, in the Catskills Mountains outside of Woodstock NY.
