I use this for a vacuum pump that is used as part of a harvest-right food dehydrator. I recently had some issues with the dehydrator, and as part of the process I changed the oil, just to ensure that oil was not the problem. The problem is that I used a different oil. TSI Supercool....an off brand that was MUCH cheaper than this at the time. Keep in mind though that this product was marked at $150+ per gallon at the time, I assume because the vendor was low on stock and decided to just up the price instead of delete the ad and repost it. This oil allows me to get to 300 mTorr within 15 minutes, where as the other oil prevented me from getting below a 1400.
This is quality in performance, and from now on I will not use any other brand.
*on a side note, there really WAS a problem with my device. And I spent MONTHS working with the company to troubleshoot and resolve it all. The oil being a problem only compounded other issues and made troubleshooting more difficult.

Read the back of the package, this oil contains acids and you must drain your pump each time after using it when you use this oil. I don't suggest using this oil on an expensive pump. My Edwards 30 seized up after 40min runtime. I thought the pump was garbage as it would no longer pull a vacuum. After making several calls a tech told me that black gold is junk and not to use it. He had me drain the pump and put cmp19 oil in it and the pump fired right up. (Pretty sure it was called cmp 19, I'll have to confirm when I'm at work) anyway, I switched all my rotary vane pumps to cmp 19 and I've noticed far less oil spit up in the exhaust line and the pumps seem to run much better when void of black gold.
