When 1 LED goes out, the WHOLE strip goes out. When that happens, the power from the ballast goes MORE into the remaining 4 strips. Then soon, each strip will start to go out, until all of them are out UNLESS the broken strip is replaced. This was told to me by JBJ themselves. IT is a very big design FLAW.
NOW here is what makes the company HORRIBLE....You can replace the strips but it must be with the JBJ LED strips that they make. It costs $70 per strip that holds 5 LEDs. So pretty much 5 strips x $70= $350 - just for the strips. You cant replace with other LED strips as they will not work with the enclosed ballasts, at least that is what I was told. So what costs JBJ a few dollars for a LED strip, they want to charge customers $70.
Forget about getting them to cover under warranty if its over 1 year and you dont have proof that you bought it NEW and REGISTERED it on their website. IF you dont do any of the 3 steps, they will make you pay for it. And forget about mentioning the claim of 50,000 hours and up to 10 years on their manual. They said the key word is "up to"...so even if its 2 years later and you only use 1000 hrs, they will not cover. Crappy company and they designed a faulty LED hood and trying to make consumers pay for it. Buyer Beware on their LED nano system.
