Top customer reviews
There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The good: light, compact, everything is in the box (you can even keep the XLR cables inside!), no more freaking stand to carry around, no more heavy PRX or K12 to lift up to the pole, no more XLR/Power cables to run around the stand and try to make it look nice with Velcro (+ you are saving 6' of cable right of the bat!), basic (but functional) mixer included, sounds GREAT, makes you look like the uber cool DJ at the weddings and proms with the kids. MUCH cheaper than the Bose for 80% of the same.
The not so good: not as powerful as the PRX715 (~115db vs. ~135db), you'll still need a 18" sub for a large crowd (only 10" instead of 15" in the PRX715). VERY stiff spacers. I nearly end up at ER the first time I tried to pull them out (be careful!). I fixed that by adding a bit of lubricant on all the edges and now all the spacers fit super smoothly in and out.
In conclusion, not the magic bullet; but a great alternative to the usual big box PAs on stands; just not as loud but much better looking. So you still need to keep both systems in your garage, and bring the right tool to the right job!
I added some pictures, you can just about see the two posts in the photos. They look so cool. And no problem handling a crowd of 150 kids at a prom. If you can't get good sound out of these, you're doing something wrong.

Update June 25. Match made in heaven with the bose F1 sub. Dial down the bass on the eon one so you can cranck them louder. A killer combo for weddings 75-150 guests. Rumbling basses and crystal clear highs. Plus it looks amazing, smart, slick and so premium. Trust me you'll have guests asking you about it. More pictures below. Notice the F1 sub.
I'm so happy about this combo. Light, slick, crystal clear, at a fraction of the price of the Bose L series. Don't believe the poor reviews here and elsewhere. JBL engineers know what they are doing, and if you can't get amazing quality sound out of them, you're doing something wrong. Contact me and I'll give you a tutorial.
Update July 18. Just did a wedding at the local country club. In the middle of the night, the CC manager came to ask me to turn the music down because some club members across the whole building were complaining that the music and especially the bass was too loud. Best compliment ever.
Full disclosure: I am NOT affiliated with JBL in any way. I've been DJing for 25 years, and learn how to use a piece of equipment at its best before leaving a review.
So, with that said, it has slightly more head room than the compact and provides much more bass. A little more heft in carrying it, but more convenient in set up and break down. Comparing to the Expo, not sure about headroom, but would say that it provides more bass and want to say a cleaner all around sound.
The biggest benefit to the Eon One is that it is all in one. I have now used to DJ a New Years Eve Party (crowd of close to 100), and played through it with my three piece band. Into the Eon One I played my bass with a modeling pedal, my microphone and the drummers vocal mic. The venue I would guess held over 100 people. It did take me till the second set to get things dialed in, but now know a starting point with levels. I also DJ'ed through when our band took breaks. Handled the job fine.
Again, ease of set-up a big plus. I would compare it to carrying the B2 sub of the Bose L1 Model II unit. A little beef to it, but no need for the mixer and extra array bags, as it is all there in nice neat package. Seems well built, but only time will tell. I have a lot of mileage on my Bose gear and their support is by far the best I have came across. The Fender Expo is actually standing the test of time as well, but can't say much for their support.
When I ordered the Eon One, I got in on a sale and promotion. So I got it at a better price, plus still waiting on the cover to come that was part of the promotion. Looks well made, but can't say. The base of the cover looks like a little cart with wheels. Can't wait to get it.
Depending on what one is after, this could be the deal. The Bose T1 mixer provides more channels and just more everything really, but for what I am doing the mixer onboard the Eon One fits the bill. Well worth every penny so far.
Update: I received my cover with wheels. Very nice quality. I don't know if I will use the base with wheels, but having the option to do so, is nice.
