I have been very pleased with these speakers. I installed them in my bedroom this week and really cleaned up the look of the system in there. I was able to install them pretty quickly, but rest assured that it will take you a little while to get it done. You have to measure properly, use a level to ensure that your holes are level, cut your holes for the speakers, cut your holes for your connection plate by your baseboard, run cables, etc. This requires a lot of measuring, leveling, cutting, and everything. You won't be done in five minutes... it will take you a good hour to do right, and to pull cables for your television and all that. Before I bought these speakers, I was using standard wall-mount speakers, not in-wall, the install was NOT clean looking. When I did the speakers, I went ahead and snaked all the wires for the television as well, so there are no exposed wires anywhere.

NOTE: You should NOT run your television's power cable through the wall. You should really run a new outlet to hide behind the television. Running the power cable through the wall is against building codes and is unsafe.

The sound of the speakers is considerably better than the Polk system I was using before I bought these. The larger speakers have a cleaner and more open sound than the small satellite speakers of the Polk Audio RM705 system I replaced. The sound is better. There are no exposed wires. The look is clean. You cannot beat it.

This speaker is supposed to be a replacement to a B&W speakers. The reason for giving this product a four is because I have not installed them yet and I wanted to mention this so others won't run into the same issue. I was hoping it would simply fit in the opening of my old speakers, but I found out after removing the old speakers that the opening was next to a 2x4 wood stud, which prevents me from installing these JBL speakers. The instructions stated that I need to be at least 2" away from a post on both sides. So I won't be able to use the same opening.
The product is of high quality and packaged well.

I purchased these speakers from another side for various reasons to replace the rear satellite speakers I had in my 5.1 stereo system.
I wanted to clean up the look while upgrading the sound. These did both.
The in wall speakers are much cleaner looking and have decluttered the wall where they were installed and brought a much more modern look to my entertainment center.
Installation was pretty easy. You'll need a drywall saw assuming you are installing these in previous construction.
The set comes with a template that you trace on the wall where you want to install and cut out the hole with the dry wall saw. The speakers have simple to use screws already built in that clamp into space when you are ready to secure.
Tear speakers both improved the sound and look of our entertainment center. I'm glad I purchased them.

High quality speaker for my 5.1 in my master bed. Puts out good sound and were simple to install. Speaker surrounds are a slight off white color, so you'll probably end up painting them. Running these of a simple home theater amp and they sound fancy. Haven't broken in yet, but I'm sure these will sound a dandy when they are. Got them on lightning deal, so it was worth it to me at that time.

Because of their size, I didn't expect great things out of these speakers. I have them sitting on a shelf for the moment, so I don't know if the bass response will be better once they are in-wall but there is little to none as they sit,. The mid's and high's however, are amazing! These speakers are so clear and precise! I have installed a lot of high end speakers in the past and JBL has always been on par with them in my ears,. I bought these for $44 and I am very pleased! Hook up a subwoofer and you will not be disappointed with these speakers!

These speakers take about five minutes each to install, and once installed, they sound and look great. They come with a white wire mesh cover that also has a thin fabric on the rear which completely masks the large, dark woofer cone. With or without the covers, these speakers look great once installed.

To install, use the included cardboard templates to cut a hole in your wall (I used the Stanley 20-556 6-Inch FatMax Jab Saw to cut the hole), run the speaker wire through your wall to the hole, connect the wire, then push in the speaker and tighten the four screws until they hold the speaker firmly in place. Note that you will need to make the holes in-between studs, otherwise the speaker won't go in!

I use these speakers as rear channel L/R for my 5.1 surround setup, and they give a very full sound, with distinct highs. They don't give a whole lot of low-end, but if you want that, buy a decent subwoofer.

Since they're in the wall, I was worried that (a) the sound would be affected negatively, and (b) the adjoining room would get some muffled noise. Well, the sound is slightly worse than a bookshelf speaker of the same size (that's what I use for my front L/R), but not too noticably. And the adjoining room does get a tiny bit of bleed-through, but it's not distracting, since sound from all the speakers passes through the hall as well! To resolve that problem, try installing the speakers on an external wall, or a wall that adjoins an unoccupied room.
