This is a wonderful rice topping and it has all the same toppings normally used in "ochazukemono" -- a kind of rice porridge. Ochazukemono, to steal a line from Ratatouille, is a peasant dish. It is commonly eaten as a snack in Japanese homes. Ochazukemono is simply rice with dried salmon flakes and dried seaweed covered with a tea cup of green tea. While this dish is surprisingly simple, it remains one of my most enduring "souvenirs" from Japan. I love this furikake because I can sprinkle it over rice, add a tea cup of green tea and have a quick, nutritious and (I think) delicious snack.

I've just tried this seasoning this morning and it tastes super good. I actually went back to my room to cook more white rice just to eat with it, a little soy sauce (very little), few drops of sesame oil and a little bit of chili sauce (sriracha). It was one of the best meal I've ever eaten. The aroma of the seasoning when it hits the hot white rice makes my room feel very cozy.

Excellent flavor in a recyclable container. Consider using it on noodles and potatoes, even cottage cheese. After a spritz of Smart Balance on popcorn, add this seasoning for a real gourmet treat.

I was afraid it was going to taste like what I'd imagine fish food smells like, but I decided to take a chance since it's salmon. It didn't taste fishy to me... and it was delicious!!! I don't know the exact type of rice we eat, but we always get ours from an Asian grocery store in Charlotte. Add this (amount is based on your taste) to 1/2-1 cup of hot, steamed rice and compress it into a shape of your choice to get a tasty treat in less than 2 minutes (if the rice has been made already). I'm looking forward to adding this to chao ga (Vietnamese chicken porridge) in the future. My mother is contacting our favorite store in Charlotte to ask them to stock up on this kind of furikake. It's that good.

This rice seasoning is visually interesting as well as tasty. There are different colors, sizes and shapes of seasonings in the mix, and it looks really pretty sprinkled on top of rice. The flavor is fairly mild, although a little fishy (but hey...it has salmon and nori in it). It's nice and savory, but also has just a tiny bit of sweetness. I wasn't expecting that, and it was a little weird at first. I'm getting used to it, though, and appreciating the complexity of the seasoning mix. It comes in a nice glass jar with a plastic lid. The inner lid is sealed and opens with a pull tab. The contents tasted very fresh. I'd like to try some other flavors in this brand as well.

KNOW THIS: The ingredients shown on the product images are inaccurate. I bought this product believing that I knew the ingredients, but was very disappointed to see that the real list is nothing like what you see in the picture. Can't eat it, can't return it.

The actual product ingredient list is uploaded below.

Mine got lost :( but I buy it regularly so I'll review it anyway. I love this flavor because if I sprinkle a little water on my rice balls before I pack them (fav bike ride snack) the salmon flakes reconstitute. You can't beat the seasoning and salmon pieces. It is a mainstay in my house.

I used this over a year ago when I was at a summer research program (undergrad). I didn't have much fridge space so I ended up preparing very minimalistic dishes. Plain rice with this on top (maybe add other spices like the classic black peppers) seems (haha) healthier than ramen, and it takes so much less time than pasta. If I still ate rice, I would love to stock up on these. Downside: I like adding a lot to my rice, so this doesn't last very long. And it's not that cheap :(
