HDMI splitter power

Bought this to power my Belkin av10117 HDMI splitter. Have been using the HDMI splitter for nearly 2 years since my older model TV has only 1 HDMI input and I have 3 HDMI devices that needed to be connected. Just upgraded to a new DirecTV Genie HR54, and apparently the HR54 does not put out enough power on the HDMI line to power the HDMI splitter. The Belkin av10117 HDMI splitter had a port for an external power supply, but I could find no specifications about the plug size, I only knew it needed 5v DC 1A. Got this power supply hoping it would work. It works great. Now I can switch between all 3 HDMI devices by just turning them on.

I used it to power a 13 port usb hub for my computer. the hub ended up not working at all. but that was not the fault of the power supply. the light on the hub turned on when plugged in indicating that power was getting to the hub so the power supply did its job.

Power supply for hub works good. The cord is a bit short (though it is supposed to be about 4 ft long) so I had to place the hub it was attached to at the edge of my desk in order to get it to connect to the surge supressor powerstrip on the floor. Another 6 inches would have made this product an outstanding value. Be prepared to move whatever you are powering in order to make your connection work unless your plug is closer to your work area than mine is. Other than that this power supply is great.

Smallest adapter missing.

So overall the product works as expected and functionally there is no problem. Mine was missing the smallest connector which was why I was buying this TBH. Luckily, I am an electrical engineer and I had purchased a 10' extension with the correct size Male adapter so I ended up cutting and splicing the power supply onto my 10' extension cable so that I could use it.

Like I said. The product works as expected but we wary of missing components. It was sheer luck that my project wasnt foiled.

3 stars because it works. I took away two since the adapter was missing.

Absolute junk. Needed this as a replacement Power Adapter for a IP Camera and as soon as you plug anything into the power adapter it starts humming/buzzing and you can hear it from almost an entire room away.

Plug doesn't stay in wall outlets well, smallest nudge will knock it loose, and EVERY TIME I've unplugged this thing I've seen sparks coming out of the outlet.

The prongs on the plug are also so loose that you probably wouldn't be able to get this thing into a TR (Tamper Resistant) outlet without breaking the thing.

Buy this if you're okay with a 5$ piece of junk potentially burning your house down and driving you insane with a high pitched screech. If not, look elsewhere.

Well - what else is there to say - it works, and outputs in the neighborhood of 5v and 2a per my multimeter. I had a power supply for my chumby go on me, and all of the various high-amp "tablet" USB power supplies in the universe simply wouldn't produce the juice necessary to power it up. With a bit of splicing of tips, it powers up and works like a charm.
