USDA Organic products must be produced using farming practices that maintain and improve soil and water quality, minimize the use of synthetic materials, conserve biodiversity, and avoid genetic engineering, among other factors. Crops can be certified organic if they’re grown without prohibited substances such as most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides for three years prior to harvest. Products that contain a minimum of 95 percent organic ingredients and use the USDA Organic seal are part of Climate Pledge Friendly.

The founder's passion for coffee started as a hobby, home roasting coffee for friends and family. The Jo Coffee Certified Organic coffee brand was originally started to serve the growing demand for gourmet coffee lovers shopping on Amazon. It turns out, the brand has been an incredibly huge hit.What makes our product unique?

Great Espresso Beans

I've been starting my day with a few shots of espresso made using my Saeco Super Automatic espresso machine for many years now. I've experimented with many beans over the years, and it's been hit or miss (some are good, but are just too oily for my machine). My "go to" bean right now is Lavazza Super Crema. I love the taste, and the beans work perfectly in my machine. I was pleasantly surprised by the Jo Espresso beans. I knew nothing about the beans or the company that makes them, they just happened to be available "same day" along with the Lavazza beans I was ordering, so I added them to the order. These beans produce really great espresso. The crema is rich and consistent (more a function of the machine than the bean, I suppose), and lasts longer than it takes me to drink an espresso. The color of the crema is darker than the picture shows. I thought the flavor was really nice. As advertised, strong notes of dark chocolate, a really nice finish; velvety. I really like it with just a bit of sugar added as well (I know, that's blasphemous!). All and all, another great "go to" espresso bean that I'll be stocking.

Gravel with beans

This was the fourth purchase we made of the exact item. We mainly like it because it is organic, the flavor too is good, if not great. This time, I found a piece of gravel embedded with stones in it. This possibly damaged the blade of my grinder, since I noticed it when preparing my coffee today.By Dippy on April 5, 2018

I prefer the flavor of dark roast coffees. I don't like the "bright notes" which just taste acidic to me. This espresso medium/dark roast is beautifully rich and yet very smooth with a nice "no bright notes" finish. I use four little mini scoops of whole beans per cup. I grind them in a Capresso burr grinder and brew it up pour over style (an old Melita from the seventies actually, same thing) It makes a great cup of "Jo"By Tim Ulman on June 2, 2019

Had a rock in it and broke my espresso maker

Previously I left a positive review but upon using this product again my espresso beans had a ROCK in it which got stuck in my brand new $600 espresso machine that I just got for Christmas and it totally destroyed the motor. It won't even preform it's other functions anymore.
