Good Quality, assembly is confusing.

We purchased this bike for my 4 year old son and straight away I can tell that its super solid and will last a long time. I have not tested that theory, only having the bike for 2 days, but it has a great feel to it and the components are well made. The reason for 4 stars is that the manual is very confusing. They package more of a general assembly booklet that is for any model of bike they sell, so you have to read through to understand what directions are meant for the bike you purchased. And in many cases I couldn't find directions for our model, so I had to wing it. Which was not brain science, but it was still confusing. ONE THING TO NOTE when screwing in the pedals, one of the pedals threaded by twisting left instead of right! So at first I thought it was a defective pedal. Try twisting the opposite direction if you are having trouble threading. Its not always righty tighty lefty loosey with this one. Over all very happy with this purchase!

We purchased the 18" bike in blue after reading copious reviews on this and other, similarly sized bikes. The Joystar bike has a cool, retro look that is unlike any bike in the neighborhood. It is a little heavy, but the materials are good quality, contributing to a sturdy ride. My son reports that it is easy to pedal, the brakes aren't stiff and don't squeak, and the seat is comfortable. He has spent many hours riding it in the last month and a half since he received it. He is glad to have a kickstand (only available on 18", if I remember correctly). I did not assemble it, but it didn't take my husband long and he said it was issue-free. I noticed some reviews that mentioned difficult assembly, but that wasn't our experience. I would recommend.

Assembly Sucked, Cute Bike

The package arrived in decent shape but I quickly encountered my first issue. The handle bar was upside down🤦🏾‍♀️ Removing the screws that secured the handle bar was a challenge because the key provided wouldn’t catch in the screws. It took about 10 minutes just to do that and turn the handles in the right position. Then the next challenge was getting the stem attached to the frame. The directions that came with the product as many reviewers stated are generic and not helpful for this bike assembly. The picture on amazons page for the bike was more helpful but still didn’t give clear instructions on how to secure the stem of the handle bars to the frame of the bike. After about 20 minutes of trying to figure this out I finally got the piece secured. Finally our last disappointment was the bell that is supposed to come with the bike was not included in our package. Amazon can’t request that piece be sent as it comes from a third party and so that really stinks. Hoping I can find info for the ToyStar company so I can try and get this piece my son was excited about.

Over all now that it’s all assembled it’s a nice looking bike and sturdy looking too. The tires aren’t flimsy at all. We will be taking the bike out tomorrow for a test run and I will revise my review to include how it goes as that is the most important part after all.

Also there is a little scratch on the frame but not a big deal for me.

This bike was purchased for my 3 year old daughter. She LOVES IT!!! Easy to set up takes about 15 minutes. All you need is a Phillips screw driver and an 8 mm wrench complete set up takes about 15 minutes. Comes with stickers you can use to put a custom name on the bike. only comes with one set of capital and lower case letters. Other than that this thing is great quality. My daughter has already crashed it a couple of times. and there are no signs of wear on the handle grips. The frame seems to be powder coated as it has not scratched. Very Impressed. Delivery was super fast also!

We got this bike for our son’s 4th birthday. He’s been using a balance bike for a long time and his balance has improved temendously. We were hoping he could soon start to use a regular bike and we may be able to skip the training wheels. Unfortunately he is still a tad too short to really get a good footing on this bike but by Spring it should be the perfect size. My husband put the bike together and while he didn’t have any real trouble with it he said the instructions that came with it weren’t great. The bike was well packaged and all pieces were included. We love the look of the bike as well, as we were looking for a simpler design and not a themed bike but still at a reasonable price. I wish the bike were a bit lighter in weight as it is fairly heavy for a small 4 year old. Adding a hand brake would be a nice option too. Overall we are happy with the purchase though and he will hopefully learn to ride on it soon.

Positive: The bike is certainly sturdy, well built and seems pretty safe for my son to ride.

Negative: It is smaller than I expected though, the 12" bikes are way to small for my son, going to the store and trying out 14" bikes they seemed to be the right size. The size chart also indicated this would be the right size, but it is still a bit to small. I will need to get him a new bike next year, I don't think there is any way he will fit on it next year.

Los Reyes Magos le trajeron esta bicicleta a mi hijo, nos encanto, por el precio lo vale, anteriormente estuve haciendo comparaciones con otras bicicletas de la misma gama, lo que me gusto de esta bicicleta fue lo siguiente:
- color azul esta precioso, es un color azul cielo aperlado que le da mas brillo con la luz del sol
- no pesa tanto como otras bicicletas (hay otras que pesan mucho más)
- la calidad de los materiales es buena, acorde al precio.
Observaciones:
Es fácil de armar, sin embargo la masa de la llanta trasera y del eje de los pedales esta un poco apretado, afortunadamente desde niño tuve bicicleta y se arreglarlas, así que le di una ajustada para que quedara al 100. Si no sabes reparar o armar bicicletas mejor llevala a un taller de bicis para que la ajusten
Lo único que no me gusto es la oquilla de freno delantero y las gomas, no son de muy buena calidad y prácticamente no frena, decidí quitar el freno delantero porque mi niño aun no tiene la fuerza suficiente en sus manos, así que solo usara el de la masa de la llanta trasera para frenar.
