I bought two of these to replace the old worn out ones on my older 10' Jayco PopUp camper. They fit both the gas line for the outdoor stove area and the power cord inlet. You need to replace these if they are broken because water WILL find it's way in here and destroy your camper. These fit great! The hole size was the same as my old ones and the outside diameter was just a little bigger than the old ones, which makes for a cleaner looking repair and gives you more room to pack the putty tape around it. You will need to buy some putty tape. You can pick some up in hardware stores. It's the same stuff you use to install mobile home windows. They are a better quality than what came on the camper and the hinge plastic is thicker too. I'm sure I'll get plenty more use out of the "old girl" now that water can't get in again.

Fit OK on 2001 Coleman Taos

Replaced the broken hatch on our 2001 Coleman Taos with this hatch. The inside size is perfect but the outer ring is about 1" larger than our original. Our original was held on with three self drilling screws so I rotated this one slightly and screwed it on. No problem with the fit but I had to remove and replace it because I forgot to add butyl tape to the rear ring to seal it and keep water out.

Dimensions with vermin door are misleading, but I made it work

Like another previous reviewer, I bought this as part of my 50-amp garage installation to support my new EV. I live in a 100+ year old midtown home with detached garage. Rather than dig a 3-ft trench across my entire large backyard, including tearing up my patio, I opted instead to purchase a 100-ft RV extension cord to run to my garage.

To avoid cutting a hole into the cinderblock walls, I bore a hole into the soffit behind the gutters on the underside of the overhanging roof. Initially, I used steel wool to prevent rodents entering while I shopped around for the right part to plug the hole. Searching the web for cable organization solutions and other plugs, grommets, hatches, what have you, I eventually came across this cable hatch. It claims a 3.5" diameter, which was the size I needed for the female plug I had to fit through it. However, due to its construction and the vermin door, this measurement is not quite accurate. Every 50-amp cord I looked at had an L-shaped plug end, so beware, THIS HATCH DOES NOT SUPPORT A STANDARD 50-AMP CORD.

I had to modify the part to make it work. Using my brand new and therefore still very sharp garden sheers, I cut into the long end of the hatch along one side, allowing me to bend the hatch vermin door open wide enough to squeeze the extension cord through. Amazingly, the part is quite sturdy so that it withstood the abuse. Once the hatch was plugged into the hole in the soffit, the cut I created had no impact on the overall effectiveness of the solution. I left the steel wool above the cable hatch just in case, screwed the hatch to the soffit, and closed the hatch, which fit snug as a glove.

The one-star deduction is a result of the misleading dimensions and fit claims, and the extra work I had to go to to modify the hatch for my needs. I still have no idea what the actual intent is for this part in an RV application, but if you are looking to modify your garage to take in an EV extension cord, you can make this work. If you can find a bigger hatch, that might be advisable.

Great for Replacing, but one thing Only

My tent trailer is very old to what is out there today. But who wants to buy a new one and take out a loan to buy it? So we look to improve or replace and this piece was a perfect fit.

It is an exact match for the one it is replacing which was so dry that when I removed the old one part of it crumbled in my hands. Plastic will dry out over time so hopefully this company will keep selling them.

On bad thing though is that the part does not come with a new foam gasket. My old one had the foam piece there, but this one does not supply it. maybe in the future?

Other than that this piece fit perfect. Look at the specs and the measurements and you'll have a good match.

But after buying this to replace the original hatch cover, I decided to go with a Marinco detached cable instead: Marinco (30RPCRV) 30 Amp Right Hand Angle Locking Cord , with the ParkPower 301ELRV 30A Power Inlet, White with Stainless Steel Trim . The idea of pushing the cable up inside the camper was never a good one. No complaints about JR Products, though. The original part I had lasted over ten years.

Fabricated a little weak in the hinge area, especially when dealing with heavy 30 Amp cord.
All it takes is an unexpected bump and its toast.
A couple rare earth magnets epoxied to the insides of the camper and lid will hold it up for you while you push in the hose.
Sun will dry this one out as well, so keep your camper covered.

After finding and killing a HUGE rat in my basement storage, I realized he/she was gaining entry by using my water hose and a climbing pole and then squeezing from the water compartment into the basement. This device just pops into place and BAM, no more RATS. Now I can see there are 2 holes for screws where you can mount it more permanently, but so far just dropping it in has sufficed.

Bought to feed Car EV Charge Cord Through RV Bin floor

This hatch is used to feed a EV Car Charger end through the floor of a RV Bin where there is power for the EV Charger. The bottom of the hatch needed only have the tabs bent back and cut out to the circumference to allow more movement for the large charger end to fit through. It seals up when cord is not needed and charger end easily fits through hatch when charging car. While not the usual use for this product it works well in this application.

Delayed Review: I thought I'd give this some time during the last few weeks of summer camping before I wrote a review.
This is better than the OEM Cable Hatch that came with my 2020 Gulfstream Travel trailer. The OEM has a weak design on the cap, so it snapped off when I was pulling out the power cord. This design is much better and stronger. I used Silicone to seal off the edges during installation and it does not leak inside the trailer.

this cable hatch fit perfectly in my old camper. It was almost an identical match to the old broken one, The diameter was right on but only the screw holes did not line up which was no big deal because I want to put the screws in new holes anyway. I also put a bead of silicone on the back of the flange which makes an excellent weather seal and helps hold the hatch in place too.

Great replacement for my broken hatch. I wasn't happy about replacing the entire hatch (my existing had broken door), but it was easy enough to replace it, so it worked out well. The entire hatch has to be replaced because the door from this one would not have worked in another hatch - there is no easy way around that. But the whole thing took very little time and effort, which is great.

The hatch itself works great ... but I can't speak for how long it would last. Time will tell.
