About JS Jones
Desiring inspiration? Craving a tale of tenacity and never giving up?
JS Jones is an English teacher, author, and life-adventurer. Born into a family with a father in medicine, Jones traveled all across the US as a kid. He played sports, had lots of friends, and loved to hear and tell stories. Life was off to a great start.
But during his teenage years, JS Jones began his battle with bipolar disorder. His grades slipped, he withdrew socially. His parents became worried.
One August day, while he and his family were visiting relatives in Oregon, Jones decided to make a permanent decision to a temporary problem and end his own life. He knelt down by the side of a freeway and dove in front of an 18-wheeler traveling 65 mph. The doctors gave his family little hope. But hope had another plan.
Hope said no.
The next 11 years were a struggle. The young man's neurpsychologist said Jones would only be able to work 12 hours/week tops at a fast-food restaurant. He knew he couldn't settle for that.
In 2014, Jones graduated from the University of Montana with a 3.92 GPA in teaching English to high school and middle school students.
He has spoken suicide prevention for 17 years, even being flown all the way to Phoenix to give his message.
The young writer never let go of his love for telling stories. He has 5 books out, covering topics from fiction, to poetry, to autobiography. If you would like to hear a more detailed version of his testimony, have a look at his first book 'The Day I Took My Own Life'.
Life, he states, is too precious to squander or throw away. Enjoy stories. Mostly, enjoy the love and care which dwells in writing your own.

As a young guy, I got lost. There were so many things I could learn. They all sounded fascinating, but which to spend time on, to me, was a mystery. In my book, I explore the benefits of learning something in every possible situation. There is no summit to learning. The only destination is a love and involvement in the process of being a learner.
