I paid full price for both sets. I have not been offered any incentive whatsoever for my product review. That said...
Shipping was fast and on time.
Packaging was quite adequate and totally intact upon arrival.
Straight out of the box both sets purchased were complete, and included all advertised components, instructions, batteries (button cells only -1 each for the fobs. You must supply 2 AAA batteries - as clearly stated in product description - for the locator unit).
I checked all the batteries sent with both sets before installation and they all pegged a strong charge. Set up was quick and VERY easy.
I tested all the components from both sets. Everything worked fine - both in close range and with distances of up to approx 20-30 meters. Using the locator I could clearly hear the beeps from fobs placed in one corner of my house while I stood "catty corner" in the house with several walls, electrical wiring, some electronics, plumbing, furniture, etc., between the locator unit and fobs.
Remember - while searching for lost items you need to press the appropriate colored locator button once (firmly, but not too much!) then let off the button. Then listen for the beeps from the fob - just give it a couple or 3 seconds to respond.
One quick firm press gets you 2 short bursts of maybe 10 rapid beeps from the color coded fob. If you press and HOLD the button on the locator you will still only get 2 short bursts of beeps. So you need to press, let up, listen, follow your ears, rinse and repeat until item is found.
The good news is the locator is portable to the extent you can greatly extend the "range" of the system as you are able to wander around - in and outside your house, garage, car, yard, office, etc., pressing the locator intermittently until you find the fobbed item.
In testing all the fobs in both sets - some fobs emitted louder beeps than others, but even those having the lowest volume were still acceptably loud.
Both sets I purchased are still working great - though only a little over a week since getting them. Wife LOVES her set and has enthusiastically shown it off to everyone who will listen - they too are impressed. The fact there are 4 fobs allows her to put 1 on her keys, 1 in her purse, 1 on my son's keys, and another 1 TBD - but I know it will be put on the very next thing that she loses!
Wife's system has already saved my son's butt. He - like his parents - is a chronic key loser, so it only took a day or two for him to NEED this product! The very first time our system was used in all out PANIC! mode - my son very quickly found his keys that were very well hidden - way up underneath a recliner - just in time to make it to work on time for his first day on a new job.
I cannot yet attest to the durability nor longevity of this product but my initial perception is that it seems sufficiently well built to take normal, intermittent use for a reasonable period of time.
That said, I / We would - and in fact already did - recommend this product to family and friends - without any other reservations.
Recommendations for improvement:
The fobs are small enough to work well on key chains and the like - about the same size and shape as the remote lock fobs for your vehicles - maybe even a bit smaller. But placing one on a TV remote, on your billfold or similar item - even with the supplied adhesive dots - is not as convenient. In a set of 4 locator fobs - one or two should be MUCH thinner, smaller to overcome this minor inconvenience.
The two sets I purchased both use the same RF frequency. I DO NOT know for sure - but is my understanding - this product only uses ONE frequency on ALL units. Not a BIG problem if you have 2 sets with same frequency in your location (as we do) - especially if you lose one of the locator units - you have a spare to keep on locating fobs. But still - If you plan to use more than one set in one location - it would be BETTER if units could be purchased with the option to get each set on different frequencies. Then you could avoid one user's locator also setting off and beeping the other unit's fobs while locating. In our case, I travel out of town frequently and will ALWAYS take my set with me so for us - this is not a show-stopper by any means.
One final weakness we noted is that - being Professional Item Losers - there is ALWAYS the chance we WILL lose the locator device (in our case we really could lose BOTH locators at the same time - we're just that GOOD!). Of course losing your locator(s) would always happen at some, probably VERY inconvenient time and at the very same time you've lost some other VERY important item - and you NEED that locator - REALLY bad. Unfortunately, despite the fact the locator comes with a neat little stand to put it somewhere safe and known to all who may need it - if that locator is LOST - you're screwed. It won't do any good to put a fob on a locator unit (unless you have a spare locator as we do) - else how would you trigger the fob to beep? LOL.
I recommend the manufacturer add a feature to this set so that any one of the fobs could "FIND" a missing locator unit with the press of a button on the fob. Yes - I know there are products out there on the market NOW that have such a feature - at what cost I don't recall. But a "Locator locator" feature would be an awesome addition to this product, indeed.
Bottom Line - You KNOW you lose stuff all the time - GO - Get yourself one - or two - of these. Given how stressed out we ALL get when our keys and similar IMPORTANT, usually time-critical items are missing, it will only take one or two QUICK FINDS to get your return on the small investment.
The JTD branded sets (versus the look-alike knock-offs on Amazon and elsewhere) "seem to be" the best as per the reviews and ratings.
When I purchase again it will definitely be this brand - none other.
Thanks and Good Luck locating !!

then late September..
I pressed the remote.. nothing..
I went thru each color.. which I had three on key sets and one waiting (without battery installed)..
None of the fobs worked and .. even my 'fresh' battery fob
. did not make a peep..
I totally spaced the light switch on the remote and purchased new AAA batteries for the remote and 2 brand new CR2032
zilch.. nada.. nuttin.. and the i flipped the light switch... well tada!..
the light works.. lil red light above colored keys lights up
but absolutely nothing from any if the fobs..
and even had an electronic repair person do a complete check of both remote and fobs.. Nothing..
My remote was always in its base on a loft shelf in my staircase.. so no damage .. it didnt fall and crash.. it didnt get thrown in a toilet bowl.. two of the fobs were attached to a set of keys with a daily use, a set of keys that remained stored in my sock drawer.. one was attached to an element used vary rarely.. and on a chain. hanging on a coat rack
.
so..
its a mystery.. or some shady product that is RF frequency.. which should be as spectacular in performance as the colors of fob.. and should not simply die with minimal use.. maybe you should examine the quality of materials in your remote.. its rare that an RF device fails without showing weaker signals.. . the CR2032 batterys are costly.. esp. when you want to buy a battery that will last and have power
. and two AAA Batterys that keep a light working should have more than enough power to make the fob beep.. . so. the light is obviously made with better 'inexpensive value materials.. and so.. its as if its the workmanship.. are your employees failing a quality control?.. or is the manufacturer making these out of disinegrating without improper handling.. are these products guaranteed.. even with poor grade material purchased blindly.. or without fault?.. or your manufacturing shop must have forgot to put a fob on the key to the 'my product is my character 'locker.. . .. cuz the light is on.. but the key is attached to a circle of color.. that wouldve been better help if it were glow in the dark..
so.. if you have trouble keeping your keys .. and you have any value of time .. make another set of keys.. and stick em to the remote.. . . thankfully we found the lost keys after searching the entire house ..
they were in the front door lock .. so.. your warrenty... did you have a test run .. if you unpackaged and immediately put the fobs to use.. and if you 'lost'. tested for distance.. and had foresight to put a light incase of in darkness .. and if your remote was handled and it lasted ..barely a month.. (for the return by).. Your certainly not guaranteeing.. your product is not lasting.. .. so.. your return by date is not for the failure of the fob.. . so if you.. mr consumer buy this product.. .. pray it never arrives.. and you can deal with refunds and returns.. and you wont have to leave your house... keys safe!!!
The 4 receivers/tranmitters are small and light weight and about the size of a quarter. They are black with a center single color. The fact that you have 4 is a good number for say mom, dad and 2 kids or any 2-4 family combination. You may even be a family of 1 or have seperate keys for different things or building. So that is a plus, or just in case 1 gets lost ( like out of range lost).
Now for the actual function of the product. I had to try putting tape on the key receiver so the button battery cover does not pop off. As it does not fit very well for all 4 of them. The range is limited but keep in mind this is not for if you lost your keys at a party. Realistically this is for if you misplaced your keys in your house or car maybe. Don't think you'll leave it 4 blocks away and be sherlock holmes or something.
Now for the real PAIN this thing is like a smoke detector that never stops beeping. First I thought it was the battery (nope). I replace with fresh battery and the beep continued. Then I said maybe just a bad one. So i tried the other ones(and the beeping kept going again). I would be around people and they are like what is that(i'm like my key finder(hoping it would shut up like talking to your boss on the phone (while your small child keeps asking for ice cream.) Then finally I had enough after a 4 out of 4 fail. It was either my sanity or this key finder. I did not know any magical spells that would send this demon devise to realm it came from. But to all whom are seeking a solution to finding keeps heed thy warning "THOU SHALL NOT BUY". as you see from reviews so many have also suffered my faith. I hope this review helps some one else if so please hit the like button. there is probably a good product out there but this is not it and I have tried to be as fair as possible with my review.
I am submitting a revised review because I heard from the supplier subsequent to submitting my review. They apologized and sent me a replacement. Based on this and the fact that I previously had one of these that functioned fine, I've updated my review.
***Update*** Kudos to J-Tech Digital as they read my review and responded with an offer to replace the product with no questions asked. In return they asked I modify or change my review...seems fair. I will wait until the new product arrives and edit or add comments. If J-Tech follows through with the replacement product I have to say they have excellent customer service and care about their reputation. *****
******Update #2 *** J-Tech did follow through and send me a replacement set as offered. In this new set all fobs work equally well out of the box with the same volume and range. I have upgraded my review from 2 to 4 stars based primarily on the customer service of the company. Upon replacing the original two fobs that did work well I was very dissapointed to find even they no longer worked. In less than 6 months none of the original fobs are working. I will try to post an update on the product in a few months to determine if the original product I received was an unusual "lemon". Again, Kudos go to J-Tech's customer service folks.
With everyone sick of me losing my keys, vape.mod, phone etc. This truly is a nuisance in my life. I run late most days because of this memory loss issue, I've mine. Since making this purchase I've been able to "tag" the items I loss most frequently.
Pairing the adapter tags was a breeze..even my son was able to help me with it.
The adapters are set up to mimic key fobs and easily slide right on too your key ring. The remote comes with a docking station for charging, displaying and for easily being able to locate your responder remote control. The key fobs are color coded, this will help you remember which color goes to the corresponding fob.
Since I've begun using these key fobs, it literally gets me out the door a, good 5-10 minutes earlier on an average each day. Excellent, I'll take it. When driving a longer drive/ or by having an extended drive time getting out the door an extra 5-10 earlIer can make a huge difference in my arrival time too work. Now I'm able to find my stuff and get out the door on time n our earlier. I love this item. Saves lots of time and convenience
Nice idea, and worked well for the first month, but then the Receivers started to randomly buzz/beep as if they're faulty. I was always wondering where that weird sound was coming from (and even suspected my USB hard drive was faulty until I figured out it was the receiver).
After replacing the battery they continuously buzzes as if it's broken - hence cannot use it anymore.
Kudos to J-Tech for contacting me quickly and going above & beyond to help. They sent replacement fobs and so far so good. I noticed a small change with the new fob that fixed the issue:
Original Fob: The small metal strip for the + side (top) of the battery only goes to the *side* of the battery, not on top of it. You only have a black small plastic strip on top to hold the battery down.
New Fob: The metal strip goes all the way to the top of the + side of the battery.
Refer to the picture.

Yeah. One of the fobs fell off as I was trying to take a pic. Definitely get more double sided tape.
Just being picky, it would be cool if the entire colored part of the fob and key lit up when you pressed them. I suppose it would drain more battery and the beep and red light that comes on are sufficient. Light on the remote is good as well. My phone one is still brighter, but that's kind of it's point. So, this light works.

UPDATE: Changing my stars to 4. Customer Service was excellent and replaced my locators almost immediately. The new ones are still working after six months. The reason I am not going to 5 stars is that the battery closure needs to be taped shut when the battery is changed.
