Gives New Life to an Older Phone

I love my Iphone 5S...but the battery life was declining. I checked on battery replacement with a national battery supplier. They charge $39 to replace the original battery with a similar battery. THIS supplemental battery/case is a great alternative...and at half the price. The battery is about 2 1/2 times larger than the installed battery in the phone. It does not replace that battery but works with it to greatly extend battery life. The case fits perfectly leaving all controls, speaker/mic ports and the earphone jack fully accessible. Very smart solution. Now I can go back to using my phone whenever and however long I like knowing I don't have to worry about battery life.

Let us cut to the chase, this product is going to break but you should buy it anyways.

The reason you are searching for a 5/5s/SE iphone battery case in 2021 is your phone is old and the battery is worn down and you need (or want in my case) to limp your phone along for as long as possible. You could replace the battery but there is risk involved there. You open up your phone to replace the battery and you think it all goes well but then it never powers back on again. This case is a cheap and easy way to get a few more months of life out of your phone and it is a heck of a lot easier than having to carry around an external battery. So if it breaks after 2 months be happy it did not break after 1 month!

Now my personal experience-
I love my iphone SE. The design size and features are perfect. The fact that Apple dropped this design from the product line up is truly a shame. Apple did release the iphone 12 mini and 13 mini which fulfil my size and design needs but the darn things don't have a fingerprint reader! Until Apple puts a fingerprint reader back on the iphone I will stick with my iphone SE. But alas my iphone SE is getting on in years and cannot make it thru the day on a single charge, even if I do not use it. I needed a cheap solution.

There are about 15 options for iphone 5/5s/SE battery cases on amazon. 2 are from the olden days when the 5/5s first came out and are from "reputable" companies like otterbox and mophie but their capacity and feature are limited. The rest fall into a single category that one can only refer to as "made in china". There are 2, maybe 3 actual products that are being sold by 10 different companies. I think there is some variety in features that one could consider, but I think that is limited to LEDs that indicate charge and the ablity to charge the phone and case at the same time which I think is bogus since this cases sometimes does and sometimes does not do that. Pick the cheapest one with the fastest shipping. At the time this product was the cheapest. I will say it again, pick the cheapest one! 2-5 months from now you will be buying a new one.

After getting the case and using it for about a week I was kicking myself for not buying it sooner. It was a game changer for me. I could make it longer than my friends with brand new phones!
After a few weeks and a few drops the top bezel piece retention clip broke on one side so out came the duct tape to keep it together. The clip is small and brittle I knew day one that would be the first thing to go.
About 2 months in and I started to notice the charge port was a bit touchy but did not think anything of it until about 3 months in and I couldn't hold the phone while it was charging. I could still get it to charge though so it wasn't an issue unless I forgot to charge it overnight. I limped it along for another 1-2 months and it got to the point were it was a gamble if it was going to charge or not. I was annoyed that the case had crapped out after such a short time so I reached out to the seller and voiced that to them. They responded in less than 24hrs and asked a few questions. They then said they would send a replacement which would take a while or they could issue a refund. I asked for a refund of course since amazon could send a new one to me with 1 day shipping. That took a few more day but I was impressed when I got an email from amazon stating that a refund had been issued. I was blown away, this "made in china" product that at least 4 other companies were selling had a seller/manufacturer that stood behind their product and made it right when something went wrong.

With refund in hand I started my search again and found that this case was not the cheapest anymore. I would have liked to stay loyal to a company that stood by their product. Money talks though and a 5 dollar savings can be put toward the next battery case so I bought one of the other clones. It is on its way. I know now to be more gentle with the charge port so lets see how long that one takes to break and if the seller stands behind it like this one did.

I really do like these, but they do NOT last

I'm on my 5th one over a 3 year period for my iPhone SE. I really like them. Especially the way they fit, the way they pass through functionality directly to the iPhone with plug in accessories, and the built in maget for car mounting. A few sellers offer these, but they are all the same manufactured case.

Unfortunately, they do NOT last. If you ever drop one, even from a very small height, the top snap retainer will fly off and break. It's got tiny retainer tabs that don't hold up to any drops whatsoever. This case will somewhat protect the phone, but even a small drop will break the case. My first one was dropped from about 2 feet onto a rubberized matt floor and broke. My second one failed after a few months when the charger port stopped working. My third had a battery failure after a few months. My fourth was dropped and broke. I'm on my fifth. And my last. I'm trading in my SE for a newer model this fall.

After less than a month can’t charge phone when in case. After a dingle drop the magnetic top of the case would no longer stay on and after putting it down once, the top fell off and I lost it forever. Was a rip off for me.

Wow, just wow. I have an iPhone SE and from getting up at 6 AM my battery would be dead by 11 if I didn’t put it on the charger. I can now go almost 36 hours without having to put my phone on a charger with this case. Saved me hundreds of dollars of buying a new phone. It does make the phone a little bit heavier and thicker but overall to me it makes it more comfortable to hold in my hand because of the thickness. Overall feels good and great quality for the money.

This case functions excellently. I have used my SE on-and-off for approximately two years now. I bought it refurbished, with its battery health rated at 83%. Now I don't have to worry about my phone running out of battery. No more will I have to carry a phone cable and charging brick with me. This device can also transfer data and charge the iphone/battery case synchronously.

PROS:
- My phone battery lasts like two-three days worth of active & constant usage.
- The buttons on the case are easy to identify (feel the buttons with your hands) and press.
- The case has a lip that rests above the screen, a great feature to protect the entire phone.
-you can transfer data through the case. No need to take the phone out for syncing music.
CONS:
- The plastic shell scratches easy
- The way to open the case to add or remove a phone is VERY easy to break (it broke on my third time dropping it); That said, a little bit of tape held it together nicely.

Overall, there are more pros than cons that I can think of (from the top of my head). This extended battery case is perfect for those who use their phone a lot, and have no time to recharge during their busy day. The case mitigates the amount it covers up the buttons. They are still very easy to press. The case may break easily from the top, but it can be fixed with small pieces of tape.
