Second, I did NOT get this as a free gift from the seller or maker, nor did I get a discount on it.
I paid the full price, and it's well worth it and I'm buying more. My only concern about this bag, I hate BLACK bags for placing batteries in them. Sit a black bag out for a short while in the summer (when most drone pilots are flying) and it can cook your expensive LiPo, Muy Pronto. I keep my LiPo batteries inside a military surplus "war" chest that I powder coated white, to lessen solar absorption.
I have 7 batteries for three Yuneec Q500 4K drones that I have.
I had 8 batteries, until a brand new and used one time on a hover test (not a Yuneec battery and I won't mention the maker, but I was seriously "snake-bit" by this battery and it caught on fire three days later. Made a believer out of my to start buying LiPo fire resistant bags.
I have purchased 5 different types of bags here on Amazon, and the Apex is my favorite and I think the best design... I'll go into detail, but let me advise, I purchased a zippered bag and when it arrived, it in now way can compare tp the Apex. The zippered LiPo bags have a fabric end on both sides and fire would go though that fast. The Apex bag has a very stout closure method and uses a generous amount of velcro at the flap. This means it is a lot less likely to have a flame compromise it, unlike the zippered bags.
Additionally, I can place a battery in the Apex and easily charge it. None of my other bags are easy to use when I'm charging and the Apex beats them hand down.
Unlike some who are concerned about how many batteries they can stuff into the Apex bag, I plan on only placing one battery the Apex and I'm going to buy 6 more. I don't like the idea of a battery self igniting and then starting a chain reaction with more batteries placed in the same pouch, but this is just my personal opinion..
There's no really sleek way to design a fire retardant bag, but I was able to fit this with three DJ Mavic Pro batteries into my backpack along with my drone and a laptop, so I'd say it travels well!
LiPo charging can be far more hazardous than expected. I recommend against "wall wart" type chargers and encourage caution. It is VERY easy to have a dangerous situation.
