Don't be overly concerned about getting a light; there's a snapshot flash built in and the f1.2 lens makes a video light pretty much unnecessary unless you make movies in an unlit closet.
I have been amazed at the image quality I've gotten with this unit and I'm hard to impress because I just recently retired from the editing and post-production business.
As for the JVC GC-PX100BUS, it is a quality HD camcorder. I record soccer and it maintains good sharpness and detail. I bought the viewfinder and usually use it but the view screen/hood combo does work for outdoor shooting.
Regarding the slow motion feature, it is useable but low resolution, not something you'd add to a highlight reel.
The much-hyped ability to record at high frame rates isn't worth much due to the low resolution at which it records at the higher frame rates. JVC also raves about the ability to extract high quality still images from the video clips, but I wasn't too impressed with that either.
Here's the good news: Beach Camera allowed me to return it for a full refund even though I was missing some of the plastic packaging material.
I used the refund and put it toward the new Panasonic AG-AC90. It arrived yesterday and I used it to film a football game last night. Go with the AC90 if you can afford the extra $700!!!!
