I purchased 2 sets of these in ear headphones, so I was able to compare them both before and after burning them in for 200 hours. The difference is night and day. Their out of the box sound was good enough for the price, but after 200 hours of burn in, they have the sound quality of headphones costing 5 times the price.

I recently replaced my Sony mp3 player after my older version quit. With that, I decided to purchase some new head phones-ear buds because the ones supplied with the Sony player were awful...hard plastic, flat rigid types.

These ear buds-head phones are really nice! As others have stated, the initial sound is a bit tinny and overly-treble like. But with time, it seems like the ear buds mellow and the sound is incredible, given the size and price range of these buds.

I absolutely love the way these buds sit/fit in the ear canal...once you get the hang of how to place them. The wire must fall straight down and the little tab you see fits horizontally towards the cheekbone. It's hard to explain but without having those awful spongy-squishy type coverings, these buds fit securely and comfortably in the ear canal. They are nice!

I mostly listen to my Sony mp3 player when I am on my tractor mowing our acreage. I lose things, I scratch things, I drop things, I mow over things. I did not want to put out a fortune on ear bud-head phones that I only use 1-2 times a week during the summer time months. These JVC headphones are really great! I love them! And the sound does come through clearly and LOUDLY!!

I purchased these IEMs after reading through a number of positive reviews on Head-Fi, and figured that for $17.49 they'd be a steal! I have experimented with a number of earbuds in the past including the default Apple Earbuds/Pods, Meelectronics M9, Monoprice 8320, and others within the sub-$30 price range, this is by far the best I have used.

The packaging is very simple and externally, is a bit off-putting. It comes with a shirt clip, 3 sets of silicone eartips (S/M/L), and a set of foam eartips, which are the ones I am using currently. The earbuds themselves have a thin wire and a straight 3.5mm gold-plated jack, however it seems sturdy enough and has a minimal amount of microphonics.

I began by testing the IEMs with the silicone eartips immediately with some indie rock (Cults, specifically). The highs were very, very harsh and sibilant, the bass was quite boomy and not very defined. I switched it out with the foam eartips, and the highs didn't pierce my ears as much while the muddy bass and mids became more prominent. This was expected, as these earbuds require A LOT of burn-in time. I left these IEMs overnight playing looped pink noise. The change was actually metamorphic!

The bass tightened up significantly and was able to hit the lower frequencies, the highs had mellowed a bit, and the overall soundstage developed. The clarity in these earbuds improve with more burn-in time (200+ hours). The highs WILL mellow down once they are patiently given the burn-in time. The V-shaped sound signature (emphasis on lows and highs, wider soundstage, more clarity) make these a very fun pair of earbuds and versatile to any genre of music. I have tested this on indie rock, electronica, hip-hop, trap, jazz & fusion, R&B, and reggae and they all sound great!

This was a new order for these. I bought my mom a pair awhile back and did the whole break in thing and gave them to her. I had to try them out before hand of course and found them to fit great and sounds was great. I gave them to her ready to go and she loves them, she has been using them for awhile now for watching movies on her laptop and listening to music through her iPod. She loves them and has had zero issues with them.

This pair is for me, and another pair ordered with these, is for my wife. I have a pair of Monster in ear Diesels and a pair of Ultimate Ears in ear that a bought a few years back that are higher end >$150 range that sound great. I love quality sound and while cannot say I have a trained ear I do notice distortion and can tell the difference between cheap, good, and quality sounding equipment. These really surprised me! I really like them, they fit nice and comfortable, I use them at the gym and while working out/running and they hold tight and sound fantastic. I can play anything from hard rock to rap, pop or blues and they sound great. Everything from crisp sax, piano, harmonica in Blues Travelers music to bass hits in Eminem, 2Pac, and Beastie Boys. Rock from hair bands like Motley Crew and Poison to more current Kid Rock and Slipknot. Toss in some Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Bruno Mars, and even a little Joe Bonamassa. My range of genres is very large and these things sound great and smooth on all levels on all types of music. I have been very impressed and I have found myself going to my gym bag and pulling them out for movies and TV shows on my laptop and cell phone and they have become my go to set. I use them all the time and haven't noticed a single distortion or issue with them.
