If you're looking at this headphone there's a decent chance you've read some of the huge thread that exists on head-fi.com. Here's a link to it if, not, it's a good read and may help you decide if these are for you or not:

[...]

So here are some things you need to know quickly:

1. These sound best with the sennheiser velour pads that can be worn on the hd-25 headphones.

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-069417-69417-Velour-Earpads/dp/B000NFZ92G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1353815679&sr=8-4&keywords=sennheiser+hd+25+velour

They are a HUGE nuisance to get on, because there are cords on both sides of the headphone, and they are a very tight fit which is good int he long run, but be patient. They increase the midrange and transparency on the headphone, which is good, as these are a somewhat v-shaped headphone with a fun sound signature.

2. These require a bit of burn in to sound their best, I recommend at least 100 hrs with various types of music and white/pink noise.

3. There are also other pads available from ebay, such as the Audio Technica Pleathers, and china imports, I found they change the sound some, but not as much as the velours, but they are more comfortable. See the head fi thread as there's plenty of talk about those.

ACCESSORIES: Doesn't come with much, basically just the headphone no case or anything, but they fold up pretty small and fort he price you can't really complain.

COMFORT: It's okay, the clamping force is a little high, but using the velours helps a lot, not a lot of sound leak on these. They are definitely not uncomfortable. I;d place them as average in comfort.

I got these after hearing great things about them.
Everything I heard was true.
They do have Great bass for and only $40+ (at the time) pair of portables.
Loud with an Ipod or Phone...yes.
Bass heavy...yes.
Pinpoint imaging...no.
Wide soundstage...no.
Comfortable...not for me.
I asked my wife if I have large ears, and she says yes, so this might not be an issue for others?
I saw a review on youtube, and the reviewer looks to have average ears, and he says cups are not that comfortable as well though.

I think the produce a very powerful sound, while the midrange (for me) need eq work to sound good on certain genres.
Luckily my Ipod Classic has a vocal curve that works ok for this, but I prefer not have to use the cheap EQ on a portable.
I didnt find Kenny G and his sax very engaging as the sound was so closed in, the same was true for electronic music.

Rap music and Hip Hop sound fantastic on these and rival and even best the original Beats phones IMO, but cost so much less.
JVC makes phones with more bass than these, but for most bass-heads this will be plenty, esp with a portable or desktop phones amp.

I didnt remove any stars for the closed in sound-stage, as these are an over ear closed portable, and I havent hear many that do better.
I do believe these are durable,,and very portable with their multi-folding style

I bought these to toss around as they are so portable. I also own the huge JVC HA- SZ1000s. Love the 1000s. These are very good powered by my $59 lg phone . why not see what happens with a fiio e12 amp? WTF? These are so small yet can play at extreme volume with excellent bass.(try "dj pyro mix with Lil' Wayne" on youtube, not really my thing but great recording with no eq) the clarity and bass slam is just stupid in a good way. I received these at work and let two of the girls listen to them and within 20 minutes they both had me order a pair for them. I've never owned Beats, but have listened to them in-store. Even the expensive models have a distortion (Doppler distortion perhaps, where they just fall apart) which is unlistenable. I just had to take these off and look at them because their small size is simply unbelievable for this level of clarity and aplomb. I just looked at them again. I just can't believe it. I've owned Sennheissers up to $200. These are pretty close with a lot more flexibility and clarity at proper volume to approximate a live performance. Their performance at lower volume with classical music is enjoyable and handles crescendos pretty well. If I weren't spoiled by my home system I could be satisfied with these for all music. They're that good. Foldable, cheap, GREAT. Invest in a portable amp, any fiio will do, and be amazed!

Great 100% awesome product. Dont take it from me take it from the experts.

Short summary V shaped signature which can be easily eq'd to cater to your own desires. Tight punchy bass(due to the carbon nanotubes) on par with headphones that have a 100$ premium on the price of these. Easily driven. Exceptionally high build quality given the price yet again.

Only a few cons and not much of cons if you are a sensible logical practical person. Burn in required to have noticeable sound quality increase is ~500hrs and apparently to be fully burnt in its ~1000hrs. Mine seem to have gotten great around 800. Again this is a con to some but IMO again rephrasing sensibility, logicality, practicality wise you are obviously going use these more than 1000 hrs throughout its lifetime so consider the burn in more of a journey of how your relationship with these started. Some on forums even say the sound quality still changes 1-2 years after ownership, i have to agree ive owned these for almost a year i wanna say the bass gets a bit less punchy as they get more use(my theory is the carbon nano tubes are just getting softer/less dense over time) though IMO it makes the bass sound more realistic and reasonable. When they are freshly broken in the bass can be a bit over animated/too punchy and responsive over time they tend to blend in to the total sound. Non removable cable that is split not a cable that only goes into one side. Most likely in order to reduce the price which again is negligible when considering the product as a whole and what you're really getting.
