JVCC UHMW-PE-10 UHMW Polyethylene Film Tape is a 10 mil ultra high molecular weight polyethylene film with an aggressive acrylic adhesive. Its high chemical and abrasion resistance and extremely low coefficient of friction makes this a versatile engineering material for many severe service applications. Materials slide freely over tape surface with no slip/stick tendency. High impact strength and shock absorbing properties. Outwears Teflon™ many times and is a good replacement when high temperature resistance is not a requirement. Applications include: rub strips on conveyors; bearings and sliding surfaces; chutes and hopper liners; dead plates; wear pads; guide rails; tool tables and fences; furniture and drawer slides/runners. UHMW polyethylene tape is used primarily in automotive and mechanical applications. Meets automotive specs: Chrysler MS-CH612, Ford ESB-M3G123-B, GM 6419M. Wound on a white paper liner.NOTES: Sizes shipped will typically be the tape industry standard metric-cut sizes, i.e. 24mm for each 1 inch of nominal tape width ordered (rolls are approximately 5% narrower than the nominal size). This product's actual size is 12.5mm wide. This tape is typically cut to width from log rolls so most sizes ship on non-branded plain white cores.

While I can't say it's smooth as glass or 'just like' a metal rail setup, it's certainly better than wood on wood scraping that causes sawdust and bad noises! I may have to reapply this tape in certain spots over time, but would recommend it to others in my situation and to those who are restoring old furniture.
As a homeowner without a lot of DIY experience, I would have appreciated some simple how-to instructions for application, but there are none with this product. It's fairly easy to see what you need to do, but some tips on prepping the surfaces would have been helpful.
Definitely a good buy and useful product that I'm sure I'll find other uses for in the future.
Our drawers have wood-on-wood runners, which creates a lot of friction, making opening drawers a real wrestling match. Not fun when you're cooking. We tried applying different waxes, etc. but nothing really seemed to help.
Sticking a length of this tape along each runner on *both* surfaces (so it's tape rubbing on tape), makes them 1000% better. You do use up alot of tape this way, but it's so worth it. Sure beats a kitchen renovation! After I applied it in my kitchen, I realized I could use it in in all of the drawer built-ins in our house, which are constructed the same way, and bought 2 more rolls. The tape has held up for a year or so now, and I don't see why that would change. Hope this helps someone!
After reading reviews on a few different types of tapes this is the one I decided to go with. Now, I've only had the tape on the drawers for about a month, but so far there is no wood dust (I plan to update later whether there is dust or not).
The added bonus to this is that even though they opened well enough before it is even better now. The drawers slide out so smoothly and easily. I taped only on the inside of the cabinets where the drawers slide in. I taped both the bottom "ledge" where the drawers touch and I also did the vertical parts that also touch the drawers. So, it was like an L on each side. There was room between the drawer and this area, but I did it just in case. I wanted to make sure there would be no more dust.
If either of these problems are something you're trying to solve without replacing your kitchen cabinets this tape is an inexpensive solution. Definitely recommend!
