The Insight Cuttle Bone holder is the first of it's kind. No more difficult wires, this plastic bolt on holder can be used easily on vertical or horizontal barred cages. This holder even has a moveable perch that moves up or down for easy access to the cuttlebone as it is eaten. Easy to use and dishwasher safe.

Sorry to be negative, but I lost a bird because it got caught in the device, so I would rather be truthful than say, it was just an "unlucky" event; No, the parakeet is just big or small enough to get TRAPPED, and I would HEARTILY NOT RECOMMEND this device, by this manufacturer!!!!
I lost a top-top, wonderful bird because of this parakeet trap.....still MIFFED!
Original Review: Bought this for its intended purpose but when I received it, I immediately saw that it would hold the greens that my birds love. I fold a large chard, kale, beet, or romaine leaf in half, doused in water and rinsed clean, stuff it into the holder, and the birds are delighted. The greens don't fall on the floor and get dirty. I did not give it five stars because the perch part was broken when I got it, but luckily was able to glue it in place nice and tight with some E-6000. One person complained that the perch is slippery for his birds. It could be wrapped with cotton kitchen string or garden twine so their little feet can grab on. It also can be removed. I have my holder near one of their perches, so they just sit there and lean over to eat their salad. I think the best thing about it is that it keeps the food on the wall of the cage, avoiding it falling to the bottom and getting soiled. Amazon's shipping was a bunch of stuff loose in a box, that's why the holder got its perch broken on one side, but as I said, I was able to fix it easily with glue, and it's probably stronger for that, anyway. Finally, one person had unfortunate accident in his bird's cage with this holder. The perch can be entirely removed if you're worried.
It is so nice to be able to purchase bird products that are not cheap, break easily and flimsy!
This cuttle boneholder will last a long time.
I gladly forgot those metal clip pieces that would not hold up for long. Nothing metallic to worry about zinc or lead poisoning.
This product has a sturdy plastic bolt and big knob. It fastens securely with the flexible plastic arm that has ridges to hold the cuttle bone.
These cuttle bone holders are suitable to hold small to big sizes (I use medium dense/fat cuttle bones).
I also use this to hold treats like apple slices and millet spray. The holding bar is jagged (think teeth) to hold the cuttle bone or apple, etc in place.
There is a comfy perch for hanging out and a curved bottom to hold the shavings or bits that fall. This is both appreciated by the owner and the birds.
It is easy to clean in warm soapy water. I bought a bunch of these and if I ever needed more I would buy again.
Happy to recommend!
I got tired of the cuttlebone falling off the cheap metal holder and hope this is the solution to that problem... I will update this review if I have any issues. So far, 5 stars.
Edit: beware of birds that like to chew, my sun conure took the arm off that holds the cuttlebone in within a week.
