Amazon.com
Designed specifically for convenience and comfort, the FreeSpeak BT250v lets you talk hands-free and wirelessly on your cell phone via Bluetooth technology. The lightweight, contoured device fits securely on your head, works with either ear, looks great, and is simple to set up. Enhancements over the popular BT250 include a convenient vibrating alert and a handsome new black color.
Weighing less and an ounce, the FreeSpeak BT250v is constructed from a soft, sound-absorbing elastomer material that reduces distortions, resulting in crisp sound quality. The earpiece also features the new Jabra MiniGel, a soft, ergonomic gel tip that channels sound directly into your ear for better reception, improving your ability to hear conversations clearly, even in noisy environments.
The device works up to 30 feet away from your mobile phone, so you can talk and walk freely even if your phone is inside your briefcase, pocket, or across the room from you. With the BT250v, voice dialing, call answer/end, redial and call transfer are all just a touch of a button away. The headset also provides easy, intuitive volume controls, and features LED and audible status indicators. You'll get an average of up to 7 hours talk time and 200 hours standby on the BT250v's rechargeable batteries.

What I like:
- Comfort: This Jabra is very comfortable for something that's hanging off of your ear for dear life. I could leave it on my ear for hours and not be bothered by it. The way it fits also feels secure; I needn't worry of it falling off even if I were doing jumping jacks. I did not get this good a feeling of comfort or snugness with any other headset I tried out.
- Clarity: When conditions are optimal, it works perfect. The mini-gels that the Jabra comes with have a noise canceling effect which makes the calls very clear. People on the other side also claim that they hear well.
- Looks: Yes, looks. The 250v is black and sleek. I think it goes well with my black car. I wouldn't have bought it if it was pink.
What I don't like:
- Clarity when conditions are not optimal: The 18ft range doesnt mean much to me because unless there is a line of sight between the headset and the phone, there is static. There's static even if the headset it on the right ear and the phone is on my left side. They recommend that the phone and the headset be on the smae side of the body. Since I use it while driving more than anywhere else, it doesn't bother me much.
One of the reasons I like this headset is because once it's on your ear it stays on. You could run, jump, ect without fear of it falling off. It picks up my voice really well and others hear without any problems.
I gave this a 4/5 because of the static/signal problem and the fact that it is a bit tricky to get on when you are in a hurry. I found the best way to get it on is to insert it at the top of your ear and rotate it on. With a little practice it gets easier but every now and then it gives me some problems...but once it's on, it's on and you will forget it's there!
I agree with other reviewers who've noted that it sometimes takes several seconds after the phone rings before the headset catches on, but I've adjusted and wait until the headset rings to hit the "answer" button.
I use my headset at least 2 hours a day in standby, plus about an hour of talk time per day, and find that it needs charging less than once a week, which I think is just great. It charges in just a few hours.
Overall, I heartily recommend you give this set a try!
The only real problem that I have with this headset is that you need to keep the phone source pretty close to the headset or you will get a bunch of crackling noises. The user manual recommends to keep the phone on the same side as your headset to eliminate the crackling and this does help, but there are some times when I have to put the phone almost up to my ear to eliminate the crackling noises. All in all, the noises aren't bad and it's only on my end that I can hear them (I've asked the people I'm speaking to if they can hear the noises and they can't). I would recommend this headset.
