Update: July 2018
Nearly a year after this was purchased and initially reviewed, it is still performing at the same excellent level as when I bought it. Since the original review last summer, I've probably made 100+ hours of conference calls on it via USB cable and it is also my go-to speaker in my home office when I'm having issues with call quality on a desk phone, or when my headset battery dies. I've successfully used this speaker on a recent model IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad, HP Elitebook, and a Dell Latitude business-grade laptop model. The speaker has performed flawlessly on all of them. Last month I had to take a call in a network room where the speaker was literally placed 12" away from a Cisco 3750 switch, and the conference participants couldn't hear the background fan noise from the switch. I'd say the background noise cancellation is probably the best I've ever experienced from any Speakerphone model. If I could rate this item 6/5 stars, I would.
The way you'll actually sound is nothing like the "HD Voice" demo Jabra has on their website for this product. That's what pushed me to upgrade and it's completely false advertising.
For any visually impaired user in the office there are several problems that would have been easy for Jabra to get right in initial design.
1. No tactile sense on the buttons. This would be welcome to all users.
2. The Mute/Unmute "tick" sound is the same for on/off mute.
3. The Mute On light is so incredibly dim that in bright light even someone with good sight can't see it.
4. Since it is perfectly round there is no sense of orientation so if quickly trying to press a button while presenting users really need to pay attention.
The device is otherwise reasonably OK for the price. It does a great job canceling out computer sounds from passing back through the mic, but if a person is talking at the same time their voice is severely broken up to other listeners on the meeting.
The USB cable is short and not of great quality but does wrap up nicely and the USB plug clicks into place nicely. If only there were as much thought put into the buttons, lights and sounds during actual usage as there was for storing it I'd give it 5 stars.
So if you're a buyer who cares about a diverse and inclusive workforce in your small office you'll want to go with a different vendor.
The Good:
-Great microphone quality
-Good music playback
-Incredbly easy set up
-Long battery life
-Portable
-Comes with case
-Kickstand
-Professional styling
-Built in charging cable
-Firmware updatable through Jabra Direct on Windows and Mac
The Bad:
-Price is more than the Jabra Speak 510 but better quality sound and microphone
The Bottom Line:
I own both the Jabra Speak 510 and the Jabra 710. While I really like the Jabra Speak 510, I love the 710. The 2 main reasons are the better microphone and music playback. In terms of microphone, I have had conference calls with 6 people and the 710 handles it fine but the 510 really does have a tougher time finding the extra voices. I have also tested the pairing of two Jabra 710s and had a conference for 10 people. It worked great! The music playback is very good except for bass heavy stuff. Classical and jazz sound great on the device and when you pair 2 together the stereo effect is phenomenal (the built in kickstand also helps with music playback) In terms of set up, both the 510 and 710 are super simple as you just connect via Bluetooth. Charging the device is easy through the built in USB cable and it takes about 3 hours to charge. I’ve easily been on 6 hours worth of conference calls and still had half a charge. In terms of styling the 710 looks more sleek than the 510. The speakerphone comes with a case and the device is very portable. The firmware is also updatable through Jabra direct on Windows or Mac. Overall if you’re a road warrior or need a speakerphone at any moment, this is the speakerphone to get hands down!

EDIT : March 2019 : I have just used this as the mic/speaker for a web conference meeting and to record the presenter and the audience. The presenter was within a 3M radius of the Jabra unit and was speaking at a volume that you would expect for an audience of around 30 people. The recorded audio is not good at all - the sound levels ramp-up at the start of each sentence and ramp-down at the end. It's not as bad as 'clipping' (where the audio is cut abruptly) but clearly the Jabra is trying to switch between mic and speaker and is not getting it right. Next time I'll have no option but to use a wireless mic for the presenter. Overall this device is a big disappointment. It's price point far exceeds its capabilities/bugs, and I would definitely not buy it again.
===
This is a relatively expensive conference speaker and, in overall terms, I'm not that impressed by it in terms of some of the functionality/design nor the overall value for money. I don't mind spending above average if the product is outstanding, but the Jabra 710 isn't outstanding (opinion).
Pros :
Good output sound quality
Intuitive
Good connectivity options (USB, bluetooth, Jabra dongle)
Portable
Standby and talk times appear to be good.
Cons :
Listening to myself on recorded conference calls I would say that my voice sounds tinny/thin/processed, which is disappointing bearing in mind that the Jabra 710 product page has an audio representation of the sound improvement which the Jabra is meant to deliver. There is no EQ adjustment for the device.
The mute button is on the opposite side of the bezel to the call start/stop buttons, rather than being between them. This makes it more difficult to use if the unit is lying flat (rather than propped-up on its stand) for group conference calls as you have have to reach over the device and slightly downwards as the bezel is cut-back beneath the face of the speaker.
The battery indicator does not indicate the remaining charge.
The Jabra software continuously states that there is a software update available, however, this never disappears irrespective of how many times I install the software available (always the same software version number). There is no indication whether this is an OS X software update or a speakerphone firmware update. Very annoying.
The unit frequently has an audio delay of half a second or more when using it as an output source when watching streamed video, i.e. iPlayer or Netflix, and using Bluetooth or the Jabra dongle. The lag seems to disappear when using the USB cable connection to watch the same content. Very annoying.
I'll keep it but if I was buying again I'd probably save nearly £100 and opt for the 510 if I still chose Jabra, or simply buy another manufacturer/model completely.
Unfortunately I cannot wholeheartedly recommences this product.
This Jabra really changed things for the better for me.
Everyone said my audio improved and the sound at my end is super clear.
I love being able to start/stop calls with the buttons, muted via a button is better than muting with a mouse and volume via button and not the pc - YES PLEASE!
Finally, I have my phone bluetoothed to it at the same time. If my phone rings (as it does all the time when WFH the Jabra comes on, if it'sa Teams call, the Jabra does the business.
Stop differing and invest in your happiness right now. You want regret it.
