I'm not one to spend any time thinking about shampoo and certainly not one to spend over $10 on it, but after using this shampoo for about a week I can't imagine my life without it! Ok, maybe that last statement is hyperbole but truly I can tell a measurable difference in how my hair looks and feels and really believe I'll end up buying another bottle after this one. Previous to using this product I just used what my wife had in shower--never gave it a second thought. After using for a little over a week, here's what I like about the shampoo:

PROS:
1. It works -- I feel like my hair is fuller and thicker. It cleans my hair and scalp as it should and washes out with no residue. Plus, there is a little bit of a tingle on the scalp as I'm washing (from the tea tree oil) that I like. After my hair dries it feels soft.
2. Smells good -- smells natural since it's made from all natural ingredients (e.g., herbs, natural plant oils, etc.), very subtle and not overpowering. Smells like it was made for a man without using ridiculous scents like those in the Old Spice/ Axe/ frat boy cleansing categories.
3. All natural -- made from herbs, natural plant oils, and other naturally-derived ingredients. It has zero chemical feel or smell.
4. That's it -- it's shampoo...what other benefits do you need? It cleans, works as advertised, makes your hair smell good and feel soft.

CONS:
1. Cost
2. Can't buy it just anywhere
3. I'm now hooked

I purchased this shampoo on the off chance that it actually works, meaning it claims to help keep the hair I already have. Obviously this promise is difficult to ever evaluate, but from my research of the ingredients, it seems like there might be some basis to suspect that it would. Looking at my father's head of hair isn't encouraging, so I'm willing to spend a little extra money on a product that might help me avoid his situation years from now.

I don't use a very large amount of the shampoo itself since I have short hair, so my first bottle lasted me 2+ years. It also doesn't lather very much, partially because of the amount I use, but also because it lacks many of the synthetic ingredients that I suspect cause cheaper shampoos to achieve this effect.

As far as the smell goes, I've never noticed anything wrong with it. The shampoo is all natural and fragrance fee, so of course it might not smell like Herbal Essences, but it's certainly a much better product as a whole.

Great shampoo. It has a nice light fragrance and with just a quarter sized squirt, this bottle should last a long, long time. They sell a conditioner to match but I really don't think it is necessary. It leaves your hair feeling soft and clean. There is no heavy residue like you get with some shampoos.

I have very sensitive skin and this shampoo does not bother my hair or scalp . I don't use a very large amount of the shampoo itself since I have short hair. A little bit goes along way. It lathers up good. I like the fact that it lacks many of the synthetic ingredients. Keeps my hair looking great and clean.

Just had my last brilliant review deleted when I tried to add a pathetic pic of the shampoo on my middleclass style-bar/towel hanger across from the shower head. What's the deal with that thing? Does anyone shower with their towel inside the shower? Probably rich people.

Which is why you've read this far. Just get it. It works really well, screw those other weird reviews. If you're normal and have normal human hair that may or may not be receding or thinning, you'll get a ton out of this product.

It's 20 bucks. You'll like it enough to justify the cost if you've made it this far in the investigative purchase. Enjoy!

My experience with Jack Black products over the years has been quite favorable, and that holds true for this shampoo, which I've used before. The shampoo itself is, for the most part, colorless and its scent both interesting and muted. Made with "basil & white lupine" (white wolf?), the smell is unique and not objectionable, though I much prefer a shampoo that smells like coconut or mint.

The label claims that "expansion technology" helps to make your hair thicker and fuller, but no one's commented on my hair looking thicker and fuller . . . and I haven't noticed much of a difference. However, that being said, my scalp remains healthy and dander free.

As I've mentioned in some of my other JB reviews, I am doing this review from the stand point of someone with thinning hair, short cut hair. The positives about this shampoo is this bottle will last me a long time. I've used it for over a month now and I would say I'm about a fifth of the way through the bottle. I imagine, someone with thicker, longer hair will run through the bottle more quickly. It is very light weight, and washes through easily and leaves my hair feeling clean. The negative on this (and this is purely subjective), is the scent. It has a citrus smell, specifically lemon. I question the decision on this particular scent because it reminds me of lemon scented dish washing soap. It even has the same texture. Curious. I didn't give it 5 stars because of that, but would have given it more of a 4.5 if I had the option. Price is a little high, but most "designer" shampoos are running about the same. The chances are if you are looking at JB products, the price isn't a deal breaker for you. Where I don't believe my hair appears thicker, that is the fault of genetics, not this product. My hair is definitely clean and manageable.
