Holly's life is starting to look up 3 years after her divorce from her partying and cheating military husband. Holly's accounting business has ended the tax year on a strong note and to celebrate, Holly rented a cottage at Holiday Cove for 2 weeks. Holly's best friend Rachel will be joining her for the second week, but for now, Holly and her new puppy Hunter will have the cottage all to themselves. Holly can't wait to start her vacation.
Holly and Hunter meet on the beach when Holly's playful puppy Hunter runs off to play with Jack's dog Princess, with Holly desperately trying to catch up with Hunter. Jack is instantly captivated by Holly and can't stop thinking about her. When Jack bumps into Holly again, he charms a reluctant Holly into a date, which turns into many dates, but it's an uphill battle for Jack because Holly's leery of military men. Holly and Hunter realise how much they miss each other after Holly cuts things off and they get back together.
Holly joins Jack when he moves to Germany to run the army base, and they get engaged after dating for several years and buy a house together. After Jack leave the military, he decides he wants adventure and moves to New York. Three months after Jack broke off their engagement, he still can't stop thinking about Holly and misses her like crazy. Jack realises he made a huge mistake and can't help asking after Holly, who he finds out has moved on and is doing fine without him. Is it too late to get Holly back?
Jack is a gripping story that's tensely suspenseful, powerfully emotional and passionately steamy. KB Winters has created believable and endearing characters you'll fall in love with and this fascinating story had me addicted from the start. I could not put this book down. I highly recommend this book.
