I thought it was impossible to have a favorite in this series but Jackson Daniels (yep, Jack Daniels) in book 6 just melted my heart.
After 800 years of immortality he is sent on a mission to investigate a rogue witch in Galveston, Texas. His mind is pretty much focused on her being up to no good, so imagine how stunned he is to be attracted to her. Well, not just attracted, the heat is palpable. (seriously, that's a part I would volunteer for...and I bet you would too) To no surprise, the connection is mutual for the unsuspecting woman.
There is plenty of mayhem, intrigue and some general skulduggery going on and at times you are left guessing who is on the good side and who is about to make you their next snack.
You will not be disappointed when I say, there are plenty of steamy scenes and delicious dialogue as well as numerous plot twists and turns. And you are just about guaranteed an exhale at the end of the story. Take your time and relish each read...you will be glad you did.
It's a toss-up as to which was worse, The Templar for his Jihad or The Godmother and all her atrocities. We also get to see undeniable manifestations of Lord and Lady. True love, good plot and adventure are included. Curious yet? Good!
That all makes for an awesome story. It's one of my favorites from this series.
I also really like Audrey's familiar, the cute/terrifying barn owl! He's definitely a protector. <3
It's a standalone book, like the rest in the series. Definitely worth the read!
