Product description
From Jackson: Seven-string fans looking for a guitar that is as sleek and deadly as it is affordable will find everything they need with the JS Series Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT. This beastly axe features a 26.5” scale length for better low-end articulation, a lightweight and resonant poplar body with an arched top and a bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint for rock-solid stability. Hosting 24 jumbo frets and piranha tooth inlays, the 12”-16” compound radius amaranth fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out. Powered by direct mount dual Jackson high-output humbucking pickups, the JS22-7 DKA HT is also equipped with a three-way blade switch, single volume and tone controls, compensated string-through-body fixed Jackson HT7 bridge, sealed die-cast tuners and our 3x4 (3 over, 4 under) AT-1 headstock. I was 13, mowing lawns over the summers to save up money. I caught an interest in 7 string guitars for a whole bunch of reasons, but I won't go over all of them. Fast forward 2 years and I've finally saved up 200 dollars to buy this guitar. I bought it, and it was delivered 2 days after my birthday. I've had it for almost 3 weeks now.
Pros:
-Thin neck when compared to my other guitars.
-The built in pickups are pretty good.
-There are more high frets when compared to my other guitars. (there are 24, as my others all have 21.)
-the fretboard is really smooth and feels great to play.
-a little lighter than some other guitars I've seen.
-extra low range means you don't have to change tunings all the time.
-built in tuners are pretty nice.
Cons:
-intonation is an issue with a lot of extended range guitars. This can be easily fixed with a pair of skinny top, heavy bottom strings.
-takes a little while longer to tune than a 6 string.
Overall, this is an amazing guitar. It's really something special, especially due to how cheap it is compared to It's competitors. The matte black finish is the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend it to someone else who is just getting into 7 strings, as this is my first 7 string and it took no time at all to get used to the feeling of it. If you haven't played guitar at all though, I wouldn't tell you to buy this, as you want to start on a 6 string and upgrade to a 7 as your skills increase.
(And yes, it djents.)

The other issue I had were the pickups. If your half way serious about your tone, you'll probably want to replace them in the future. They didn't sound so great.
Overall, this guitar is a solid build and reasonable quality and materials.
This guitar sounds awesome and only got better as I took the time to do a proper setup. I high;y recommend this for anyone even remotely on the fence, it’s a delight every time I pick it up!

Top reviews from other countries

Die 7-Saitige
+ liegt gut in der Hand,
+ schön verarbeitet,
+ angenehmes Griffbrett

However the pickups are too strong, meaning that they have alot of gain and thus make the sound a bit muddy. Plus, the color of the fretboard looks kikda "dusty", as if theres a permanent coat of dust on the fretboard.
