Jackson's Trust is an amazing book. I laughed out loud, cried, and could not put down this book.

Jackson Gray is a senior analyst at DBC Sports Network. Leila Hart is the newest sidelines reporter for the network. Jackson wonders why Leila is lying to Lloyd about her knowledge of football. Jackson can see she is lying and wonders what she is after. He is intrigued when she is not interested in his collection of football memorabilia, but is drawn to the statistics on his white board. Jackson is a perpetual bachelor. His lie is complicated and he feels that any relationship, other than just sex, is doomed to fail from the beginning.

Leila Hart is the daughter of a congressman. Her former boyfriend Grant is also in politics. Leila very seldom has anything to do with her family, as they are mainly concerned about what she can do to further her father and Grant's political careers.

Leila is earning the respect of the coaches, players, and other reporters at the network. Leila knows her football and is able to hold her own with them and ask the appropriate questions during an interview. Leila is hiding the fact that she is also L.J. Hart and has her own business in NFL and college locks-and-picks site. Due to Grant, Leila almost loses her job because of her locks and picks site. Fortunately, Jackson trusts Leila. He trusts her more than any woman.
Leila and Jackson start spending every evening together watching movies and enjoying each others company. They do not have sex, and Jackson never spends the entire night with Leila. Leila calls it "A perfect, and perfectly chaste friends with snuggle benefits relationship."

Leila is set to prove that Jackson is wrong and that he can offer more to a woman than just sex.

Violet Duke writes Romances novels that are rich, solid, and heart felt stories. "Jackson's Trust" does not disappoint. The NFL backdrop and the heroine's place in it seems to be pretty dead on accurate. The hero's secret is tantalizingly drawn out - until you can't barely stand the suspense. And as in most of Ms. Duke's Romances the courtship - the build up - to the eventual consummation of their relationship is worth the wait. Her hero and heroine's don't simply fall into bed instantaneously, they grow mutual trust and respect, not to mention admiration for one another. Then quite simply - there is wooing. Yes, I said "wooing". "Jackson's Trust" is chockfull of grin inducing woo. HUZZAH! Plus ... and I don't know if I've ever mentioned this ... I ADORE heroes who wear GLASSES ... that is my catnip Kryptonite!!! Violet Duke has some Cactus Creek cameos and shout outs ... the Spencer boys and their security company from "Love, Tussles, and Takedowns" and Xoey from "Love, Exes, and Ohs" not to mention the town itself. The Hero and Heroine are engaging and delightful, with chemistry to spare. Jackson's best friends, who are the prominent secondary characters, are boisterous charmers and you will definitely be "smitten kittens" once you get a load of them. This novel is different than Violet Duke's usual novels in that the first half is very different than the second - it's almost like two different books. The setting changes the secondary characters change and then the tone quickly changes. Both the hero and the heroine have secrets and both have "Family Issues". The heroine, Leila's family is much more in the public eye however.Read more ›

Violet Duke has been one of my favorite authors since I was introduced to her Can’t Resist Series, and since reading that very first book it has been no secret that I am enamored with all of the books that she writes. I can’t say it enough, she just keeps getting better and better and amazes me with every book she comes out with! This is book one in a new series, The Fourth Down Series, which has a cast of spin-off characters found in her Cactus Creek books; the lovable boys introduced in Xoey’s love story, Loves, Exes and Ohs.

The love story between Leila and Jackson was so heartfelt, angsty, and gooey-romantic that I just melted throughout the book with every page turn. I definitely didn’t want it to end. And can we just talk about Leila? She is an awesome lead female character of so much strength and beauty! And Jackson? There just aren’t words for how awesome he is! I loved the character building in this story, it was so real and it got me to my core. However, it didn’t surprise me, as all of Violet’s characters are so well created. And I love that her series cross over and I get to keep seeing my favorite characters in other storylines.

I also have to complement the chemistry and crazy heat, one of the many things that make Violet’s books so amazing. Violet has an ability to keep readers engaged in the story, and this story was no different. At first I was completely floored by the twist in the storyline, but once I got over the surprise I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to get to the end, even if I wanted it to last a whole lot longer. All of Violet’s books always have the perfect blend of romance, sexiness and plot.

If you have not read any of Violet Duke’s book, what are you waiting for? Go one-click them now and start reading!

I received an ARC of this book, from NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.
