About Jacob Mesmer
Thanks for visiting! I love to write. I've been writing since I was in high school, too many decades ago to remember. My first publication was poetry, but I've loved writing fiction ever since. My favorite part of high school was reading my creative writing stories to the class. I developed quite a reputation!
When I went away to college, I was torn between two loves. Writing and science. Science won out, and I got a degree in Physics. After working in the field of research and development for over a decade, I decided to try my other love, and I've never looked back.
The more I write the more ideas I get. I've got a HUGE list of stories, and I come up with story ideas WAY faster than I can write them. Sometimes I come up with more ideas that I can write down! I practice image streaming every morning, it's a way to mine your creativity, and boy oh boy do I come up with some doozies!
So take a look at what I've put so far, leave a review (I LOVE all feedback) and head on over to jacobmesmer.com and see what free stuff we're giving away to our email subscribers.
Thanks again and Happy Reading!

Blog postIt started innocently enough. We were hiking and came across a clearing. In the middle was a round mud hut. We saw smoke coming out from underneath, so we walked up to investigate. I decided to slide down into the hole in the middle. That’s when things quickly spun out of control, and I found […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postI found this stray dog recently. Well, it was more like he found me. I take a fairly long walk every morning. About an hour. I like to walk before the sun comes up. Or at least leave before sunrise. I live in a particularly rural area, and there aren’t a lot […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postThe other day I was bored. Now, this isn’t very surprising, because I am usually bored. But at the same time I’m insufficiently motivated to do anything about it. But not this time. I decided to walk down to my local pier and try some fishing. I have this old fishing pole, […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postIt’s said that life imitates art. But there’s another theory that common themes in pop culture reflect the deep fears of society. An example is that during the fifties and sixties, alien invasion movies were popular. This is thought to have been a metaphorical description of what was collectively feared most by U.S. citizens at […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postI was in a really weird mood yesterday. I left work early. I was lightheaded. Almost vertigo. But I still drove, even though I knew it was a bad idea. I went to my local coffee shop and the one cute girl there that always puts me in a good mood wasn’t there. […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postI didn’t always have a taste for human flesh. But once you get past that awkward part where you’re putting a piece of another human in your mouth and chewing it and swallowing, it’s not that bad. Now, it may be one of those placebo type things. I mean if I participated […]6 years ago Read more

Blog postI’m not the type to go clubbing. In fact I haven’t been clubbing in years. When I was a lot younger, I really enjoyed it. But there are two many reasons why I’ve left that part of my life behind. One is I don’t drink any more. It’s tough to enjoy a […]6 years ago Read more
