About the Author

M.J. Kane stumbled into writing. An avid reader, this stay at home mom never lost the overactive imagination of an only child. As an adult she made up stories, though never shared them, to keep herself entertained. It wasn’t until surviving a traumatic medical incident in 2006 that she found a reason to let the characters inhabiting her imagination free. Upon the suggestion of her husband, she commandeered his laptop and allowed the characters to take life. It was that, or look over her shoulder for men caring a purple strait jacket. And the rest, as they say, is history. No longer a television addict, if M.J. isn’t reading a book by one of her favorite authors, she’s battling with her creative muse to balance writing and being a wife and mother. Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion

My words fail me at how good this book was. Finding love when you aren’t looking is how it happens. Yasmine and Zack just jumped off the page. I felt like I knew them personally.

This book had it all - laughter, tears, joy, just everything. And the story line was so well developed that the book felt too short. And I loved how the author wrote from the point of view of side characters. Can’t wait for Kaitlyn’s story.

So much to take in. My emotions changed with all that was going on in the book. I loved everything. I've read all of the butterfly memoirs but when I found out the 4th book would be released in August 2019 I had to read all of the books again so that I'll be on point when I got to the 4th book. I hope M.J. kane continues to add on books. Her writing skills are perfect and I love to read her books. So, I hope there's a 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and so on..... I know they would be great.

After reading A Heart Not Easily Broken, I thought I would have to force myself to get into the main characters, Yasmine and Zack because I was so engulfed in Brian and Ebony's story. Absolutely not. I fell in love with these characters as the focal point just as I had in book 1 of the series. I also appreciated the way the author tied both books into each other so that we could see the happy ending or rather beginning of the characters from book 1. The story between Zack and Yasmine was sweet and provided different real life elements of illness, caring for loved ones and death. It also delved deeper in how deep rooted the sting of love can be for one's heart, both male and female. And of course the spice of the book was off the charts! The author delivered another solid and amazingly complete story that fully tied into the series but also as a standalone book. I will say with this book that the epilogue provided that closure of the characters that I loved (even though I wouldn't mind reading more of them too, lol). Excellent read and excellent job. M.J. Kane is easily becoming one of my fave authors!

I liked the story ALOT!.. dare I say I was more intrigued by Jaded than 'A heart not easily Broken'.Yasmin was a woman on a mission and she was focused. Zach completely tilted her world sideways and it was Gooood :-). I also like that with this second story, apart from the connection that Ebony , Yasmin and Kaitlyn are friends, so far they each have their OWN story about overcoming relationship hang-ups. I think Yasmin & Zach were perfect for each other. Zach's mom was a mother after my own heart( something to be said about meddling mothers..hehehe). I liked the build up of the relationship. I believe all the low points in the relationship were credible. Yasmin was firecracker but loyal to a fault. And boy oh boy was Zach the text book example of how to woo a woman. I love that this was a complete story. I smiled, shed a few tears and smiled at the HEA. I'm looking forward to the author's next story in the 'Butterfly memoirs'. Kaitlyn's story is up next!

"Jaded" by M.J. Kane a very good well written read that simply kept you turning the pages. Who knew from a computer crash that Yasmine Phillips and Zachariah Givens would once again come together and in the end their lives will not be the same. This was a wonderful story of two people who had been hurt by others and because of it were afraid, so they choose to be 'best friends.' I thought at this point the story was somewhat predictable. However, as we more on into the story we find there will be some twist and turns...secrets that almost changed it all. The sex scenes were simply off the chart...GOOD! Be ready for a great story plot with characters that were so captivating. I simply wasn't able to put the book down after I started reading it. You will be touched by quite a few subtopics such as 'love, distrust, death, and trust that will be put well put together by the wonderful author's dialog. Be prepared to laugh and even cry at some of the things that will happen ....definitely there will be some emotions felt that will leave you saying ... WOW!

ow, to really get what is going on you must pick up "Jaded" a well written novel by Ms. Kane which happens to be her second book of The Butterfly Memoirs. Truly, you will have some thoughts long after you put "Jaded" down. Well done Ms. Kane! This was totally a wonderful well written read and I will look forward to your next novel.
