A new addition to the Applewhite storyline, and it's a more compact version than the earlier ones.
Sam is invited to a cocktail party as a guest of Rich, to the country house of Elgin Jubilee. Now whether he is an English Gentleman or a Russian Oligarch is a question. Also present is Magic Kingdom, one of the people responsible for her dad being bankrupt.
Unbeknown to her, this is also the setting for the Wild Chase where multi-millionaires hunt down people in a faux fox hunt. While she shouldn't be involved, Gunnolf and Hermod, two of the Vikings are involved as competitors. Of course this means Hilde has to get involved to help out.
Hilde of course has her own issues, she's helping out Delia who has managed, somehow, to buy a broken down tank, the perfect project for Hilde. Is it a spoiler, especially given the Viking Longship in a previous book, that the tank will end up getting used in the end.
It's the usual mix of mayhem murder and humour. Sams' relationship with both Rich and Camara take a little step forward, although I do worry if Sam is ever going to get her Happy Ever After. Suppose I need to keep reading
