Apparently, there is at least one reviewer who thought that this item is supposed to receive US television stations. It doesn't because it was not designed for that purpose. If you're in the US, as I am, its value is as a low-cost software defined radio receiver (but not a transmitter). There are many RTLSDR applications that run under Microsoft Windows and various Linux distributions. I currently have this item attached to a Raspberry Pi 3, where it is adequately decoding various signals with just the antenna with which it came. Typing RTLSDR in a search engine will give you an idea of the digital modes that it is capable of processing.

I noticed that one of the reviewers mentioned a 60 ppm error. The item I received had a 70 ppm error, so take the time to determine the error for your device and crank the correction into whatever applications you run. It can make the difference between receiving a decent signal and ending up with nothing but noise

Don't buy this useless junk! Doesn't work.

Plugged it into a working USB port - expected drivers to auto-install. They didn't.

Put in the included software CD and installed it - very difficult, had to type in long serial#. Result: "Can't find device".

Amazon's Q&As suggested that this product works with HDSDR software. Found that, downloaded it, followed 3 different sets of instructions, including specific "how to install driver" instructions. All to no avail. "Device not connected or driver already installed."

Tried the same thing using a different USB port. Did not work.
Tried the same thing using a different computer. Did not work.

Do yourself a favor. Buy some other product. Save yourself 2 hours of frustration.

This reminds me of the bad old days, when you had to understand what DLLs & drivers were, and be able to wade through contradictory documentation, trying to figure out what the heck to do. That was back about 15 years ago, folks!

I have come to expect plug-and-play (like every other USB device) and this is not it!

It's never been tested for DVB-t use, but is the cheapest SDR radio available. Description is correct, so if you're looking for the R820T tunner, it works without interruptions from 25-1700 MHz.
