About Jan Christensen
Jan Christensen grew up in New Jersey and now resides in Texas. Her list of published novels and short stories is growing, year by year.
It all started with "Sara's Search" back in 2004. Still available for Kindle, it's out of print now. But after that came "Revelations," first in the Valleyview Series. A few years later, "Blackout" was number two in that series. The Tina Tales series about a professional personal organizer and time management expert in Newport, RI, came along, and the four mystery novels so far in that series are: "Organized to Death," "Buried Under Clutter," "Cluttered Attic Secrets," and "Organized to Kill." And there's more! The Paula Mitchell, PI, series started with "Perfect Victim," followed by "A Broken Life," "Secrets Exposure," and "Haunting Dreams." Also available is a long short story staring Paula, "Paula's Elephant."
Jan's had over seventy short stories appear in various places over the last dozen years, two of which were nominated for a Derringer Award. She has a series of short stories called the Artie Crimes about an intrepid burglar who always seems to get entangled in some woman's dilemma. Three of her previously published short stories are in the "Warning Signs 1" collection, with more to come.
A member of Mystery Writer's of America and Sisters in Crime, she's also past president of the Short Mystery Fiction Society.
Jan mainly enjoys writing mysteries, but every once in a while steps out of that comfort zone and goes for something else. When not writing and reading, she's hanging out on most of the social networking sites and doing email. Learn more at her website: www.janchristensen.com

Organized to Death (Tina Tales Book 1)
Nov 25, 2012
$3.99
Back in her hometown of Newport, RI, Tina Shaw, twenty-nine, is picking up the pieces of her shattered life. She begins her first job as a professional organizer in a house filled with cardboard boxes and clutter, only to discover a dead body in an eerily neat baby nursery. She fears this career move may be a short one until the handsome but spooky new doctor persuades her to reorganize his office left in disarray by the former physician.
Ignoring the doctor's obvious interest in her, Tina begins seeing her former boyfriend. When he protests against her new profession, she realizes what a control freak he is. Then there's another old flame who is making her hotter by the minute. As she works through the office clutter, she learns the doctor has a possible motive for the killing. But when someone else is shot, the doctor has a solid alibi--Tina herself. Drawn unwillingly into the case, she searches for answers as her list of suspects multiplies. When the killer begins targeting Tina and her friends, she works harder to learn the murderer’s identity before someone else is found dead.

Tina doesn’t see one in the cluttered Newport, Rhode Island, Victorian attic, but does hear strange noises. While she tries to reassure Leslie, they’re drawn outside when police and firefighters arrive. A murdered man has been found in Leslie’s side yard.

Tina must help her friend find the answers to who the murdered man really was and why he was killed. And to what’s making the noises in the attic.
While Tina is absorbed in helping her friend investigate, a quarrel with her boyfriend, Hank, begins when he demands she quit because it’s too dangerous. He has ties to the police, and when Tina suspects he’s holding back information from her, her Irish temper flares even more.
The secrets behind Joshua Young’s murder are bigger than Tina ever imagined. Can the murderer be stopped before killing again?
Cluttered Attic Secrets illuminates the real spirit of friendship and is a suspense-filled mystery with many secrets and ghostly occurrences, a little romance, and a few organizing tips to help you tame your own secret clutter.

The next day her mother and hippie grandmother arrive from Minnesota in a vintage VW bus for a planned visit. Further complicating her life, she’s met a new man who’s igniting some feelings she’s not sure are reliable.

Will she be able to prevent more deaths, including her own?

Perfect Victim (Paula Mitchell, P. I. Book 1)
May 20, 2013
$3.99
A few days after Sylvia Leominster is murdered, private investigator Paula Mitchell interviews Sylvia's fiancé in their small-town Rhode Island jail. Warren Wade's fingerprints are all over the murder weapon, he has no alibi, and Sylvia broke up with him the night she was killed. After another young woman friend of Sylvia's is bludgeoned to death, Paula is dismayed when the police keep Warren in jail. They claim the second murder could have been committed by a copy-cat and remind her Warren's fingerprints are still on the weapon that killed Sylvia.
Working with her best friend who often hires Paula to investigate cases and who is Warren’s lawyer, Paula searches for answers. Paula and her computer guru lover narrow down the suspects to the victim's friends. The group is led by a mesmeric young man with political ambitions. Paula doesn’t trust him, especially when she learns that all of Sylvia's friends have lied during her interviews. At the preliminary hearing, some answers begin to emerge. Paula zeros in on the killer and sees firsthand how friendship and loyalty can be used for personal gain. With Warren’s freedom on the line, she has to find a way to capture the real killer. But in doing so, she doesn't realize she’s putting herself and her own best friend in danger.
First in a series featuring Paula as a feisty private investigator.
