Jancy Magforce Portable Magnetic-Base Drill
The Jancy Slugger JHM Magforce is a magnetic base drilling unit for diameters of up to 1-5/8 inches. This fixed-motor drill gives you precise results with cost per hole significantly reduced compared to conventional methods. The Magforce features a quill feed that's enclosed in the housing and a motor and jig constructed from a single block for reliability in the field. The mounted drill shaft requires no maintenance and provides positive slug ejection. Solid die-cast aluminum construction makes for extended durability, while the drill's compact size means it's suitable for use in tight spaces. The Magforce comes with a carrying case for travel and storage.
What's in the Box:

Powerful and Precise Drilling Saves Time and Effort
Powered by a 1,200-watt, single-phase motor, the Slugger JHM Magforce offers a 1-5/8-inch maximum cutting diameter and 2-inch maximum cutting depth. The stationary Quill motor ensures the working height remains constant for consistent results. And because there's no need for pre-drilling or tool changes, you can work up to three times faster. For additional efficiency, the smaller cutting area reduces power usage and feed effort.
Durable Single-Piece Motor and Drill Jig
To stand up to tough conditions, the drilling unit is made of solid die-cast aluminum and the motor and drill jig are constructed as a single piece. The drill shaft is mounted in a spindle sleeve without play, so it requires no maintenance. This design also results in positive slug ejection, which limits exposure to cutting surfaces and mechanically forces the slug from the cutter. Additionally, the quill feed eliminates field maintenance for slides and arbor support.
Smart Magnet Circuitry Helps Prevent Injury
Smart Magnet circuitry helps prevent injury from drill breakaway by detecting when a surface cannot support adequate magnetic holding power. A lighted indicator on the panel lets you know the circuitry is operating correctly.
Concealed Wiring and Other Safety Features
The motor wiring is completely concealed for protection against damage. Additional protective and safety features include a self-start lock to prevent an unexpected self-start in the event of sudden return of power after a power loss, and a patented internal motor cord to eliminate the risk of electric shock or damage to the power cord between the control panel and motor. A safety strap prevents the drill from falling when power to the magnet is interrupted, and a chip guard controls chips. A cooling tank and gravity-fed cooling extend tool life.
Tool Mount and Left- or Right-Hand Feed for Versatile Use
For versatile operation, the machine tool mount supports tools for drilling, tapping, reaming, and countersinking, and the three-spoke handle can be mounted to either side of the drill.
Compact, Portable, and Durable
Measuring approximately 12-4/5 x 6-1/2 x 11-3/10 inches (H x W x D) and weighing 29 pounds, this drill is ideal for truck frames and is compact enough to move from site to site and to fit in confined spaces. The included carrying case provides on-board accessory storage. In addition, the drill's solid, die-cast aluminum construction ensures long-term durability.
Top Customer Reviews
One drawback of the previous model I used was the one-piece cast aluminum feed handle. I managed to break one of the handles off during routine use. The updated version seems to have steel handles that screw into the central hub, which is a major improvement.
The electromagnet circuitry failed after about 4 months, cause was never determined. Hopefully, that issue has been resolved in the 7 years since using this product.
While it was in new condition, it was a more effective drilling machine than the Jancy JM101 we ended up replacing it with, but ultimately less rugged.
