When her past comes knocking, Jane is torn between her human lover, loyalty to her Clan in New Orleans and the people she left behind when she ran. She is forced to make a series of difficult decisions that could cost her everything she holds dear.
Jane is a strong-willed, sarcastic and sometimes foul-mouthed leading lady. I loved her sass and independence. Bryce, her human lover, seems like such a patient, good man. He even waited to approach Jane for a date for five years until she seemed to be more comfortable in herself and her life. Such a sweet man. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow, despite Jane's misgivings and torn allegiances.
One piece of the story that could have used a bit more detail and development was the intrigue involving Jane's childhood Clan leader and the anti-shifter group.
For readers who enjoyed 'Brock' and 'Jules,' they will likely enjoy 'Jane' as well. Both Brock and Jules play a role in this newest story in the series, albeit those roles are minor in the telling of the story.
This is a voluntary review of an ARC of the story.
Jane works in a care facility and try to keep to her self. But little by little Bryce is starting to break through her walls. She likes him even though he is human. But the werebear and the werewolves have to be on the lookout for the HUMAN ORDER they are out to destroy them.
When a member of her old pack show up she is torn between him and loyalty to her new pack. As well as whee Bryce fits in. Etienne was once her boyfriend ordered by her former Clan Chief. Laurent was devious and he was marrying the girls of the clan to who ever even if the parents didn't agree.
Etienne is looking for ties between Laurent and the Human Order. He drops the bomb on Jane that her parents might have been in human for when they died. This sends Jane for a tailspin. Who can she trust?
What happens when Laurent show up looking for her and Etienne. She is brought before Remy and has some explaining to do. But where does Bryce fit into this whole thing? Can they make it work with all the half truths? What are Jane's consequences for her actions?
I really liked this book. I voluntarily agreed to read it and would give it 5/5 stars. Pleas join me by either borrowing or buying it, and remember to leave a review.
