Dancing is one of my favorite ways to burn calories and stay fit. So join me and strengthen our heart, muscles and mind with three dance-based routines that can burn fat, firm your body and give you energy. My low-impact workouts are a safe, simple and effective way to get in shape at any age. Do these fun routines regularly, plus my bonus meditation segment, and you’ll look and feel your best! Onward, Jane Warm-Up (5 Minutes): It’s crucial that we warm up to gradually raise the heart rate and gently limber the body before every workout. Doo-Wop (10 Minutes): Tone key muscles and trim fat as we rock, bop and hand jive to the heart-pounding beat of live doo-wop music. Latin (10 Minutes): Let’s swivel our hips and strengthen the lower body and waistline with mambo, cha-cha and merengue moves that really burn and firm. Old-School Funk (10 Minutes): We’ll put the “fun” in funk with fat-burning disco moves and groovy grapevines that really get the heart pumping. Cooldown (5 Minutes): Lower your heart rate gradually as we finish with light toning, balance exercises and soothing stretches. BONUS: 18-minute meditation program to quiet the mind and relieve stress A towel, chair and a set of light weights are recommended.
Fitness queen Jane Fonda adds to her impressive Prime Time workout series, aimed at older exercisers or those who are new to fitness, with Firm & Burn. Firm & Burn is aimed at toning and fat-burning--the fun way. This dance-based aerobic routine is infectious, as is Fonda's own passion for the moves. As always, Fonda is very clear about setting up each new set of moves, and in providing ways to both modify a move for beginners, or to add intensity for those wanting to challenge themselves. The routine includes doo-wop, Latin, and funk segments, as well as Fonda's all-important warm-up and cool-down segments. Some of the moves are done with light weights (3- or 5-pound ones would be fine), and some of the moves are done against the back of a chair. Otherwise, all you need to Firm & Burn is a willing soul and a body that wants to move and shake. Firm & Burn also includes an interesting 18-minute meditation segment that is both relaxing and very focusing. It's a nice way to end the Firm & Burn exercise "class," but it definitely doesn't need to be done every time. Well, what are you waiting for? Let's get moving! --A.T. Hurley

Younger exercisers may not find this to be difficult enough but there are lots of Programs for them. This tape is perfect for those of us who are looking to stay fit and fabulous in our "Third Act" and beyond.
I have always liked Jane's older workouts but found they were a bit over-the-top for someone like me who is overweight and out of shape. I am happy to say that this DVD has provided an excellent avenue for working out on a regular basis and has helped me lose over 60 pounds!
My only problem is that the quality is not HD on my computer, and there are occasional pauses. But overall, I am very glad these videos are now available for online stream.
It starts with a nice warm-up exercise and is followed by three courses of 12-minute dance/cardio and at the end there is a cool down exercise as anyone who has exercised with Jane knows. One of my favorite Jane videos.
Jane Fonda is a great instructor. She's nice to listen to and really enjoys herself doing the workout. I thought it was also cute because she kept mentioning her "boyfriend" throughout the video...
I just loved all the moves she was instructing as well. They were simple but fun to me. Similar to Kathy Smith's (some were) but like even better. The pace was perfect too. The music was perfect and went so well with each workout, like inspiring. You really get a nice workout also.
The only minor complaint I have, I skip the first 3 minutes of the latin section. But I think it's a personal thing. Because we had to do the "cha cha cha" with our feet, and I get easily tired from those.
Any way, thanks Jane Fonda for putting this wonderful workout video!
*Update: I'm so depressed as this video is taken off Prime! It's no longer free on prime membership, so now I have to buy it (along with all the other Jane Fonda workouts). Amazon, bring it back! :(
Then it was at fifty that we were no longer attractive....Then, they extended the stale view to when you were in your sixties...oh oh...time to "retire"...you are no longer in the world...you have to go and crawl somewhere and wait for death to come....Ahh...but then Jane Fonda was climbing mountains at that age! ....the sixties, wonderful age to do all the things you had no time to do when in the workforce!......so many American celebrities proved that sixties were great!
Well, the challenge now is the seventies....and once more Ms. Fonda proves how our old-stuffy perceptions on "old" age are all "learned" ...they are conditioned in our minds. As Prof. Deepak Chopra says..."we are fluid and changeable...age can slow down and even reverse itself....and one of the most important ways to grow younger and live longer is regular exercise"....Need I say more?....Watch the video of Jane Fonda in her seventies....and decide for yourselves!
