The workout. Both routines are pretty thorough. By that, I mean that they stretch and strengthen all the major parts of your body. So, this DVD will help you get more flexible, less stiff, and stronger. And, if you keep moving the whole time during the DVD and don't rest, you'll likely get some cardio training in as well (although her walking DVD, Jane Fonda: Prime Time - Walkout, is probably better suited for that). To boot, there's a couple of extras at the end of the DVD- here you'll get a few really good exercises to help improve your balance, and some other tips on exercising. Noteworthy is the fact that many of the exercises are done in standing- although you're holding on to a chair for a lot of them. Both routines are around twenty to twenty-five minutes each.
Just a great little DVD that will get you moving- and keep you moving if you stick with it! Also recommend Treat Your Own Knee Arthritis if you have knee pain that keeps you from exercising regularly. Good luck!
In her newest video Jane is true to her style of looking out for us here at home who are trying to follow her lead. She is very considerate and compassionate. Jane has a soothing voice and really looks after the viewer. This is especially important since this video is more geared toward older folks. I am young but out of shape. I wanted something gentle and non-intimidating which would keep me moving on a day when I don't want to move. This video has delivered what I was looking for. If you are super-fit and aerobic you probably won't like this video.
Things happen in life. People get sick, develop illnesses or injuries, give birth, get off of track for whatever reason, let themselves go...This is a video for people going through life who want to keep moving, want to be encouraged to care for themselves. We won't always being doing kick-boxing, advanced aerobics or such high-impact exercise through our entire life. Real people need something else to fall back on when their energy is low or the pace of life has changed for whatever reason. This video works for that purpose.

This DVD targets the mature crowd, and is well paced for persons within their 60s and 70s (as well as persons who may be recovering from an accident). Her instructions are given with the care and attention that elders deserve. Her calm voice encourages the viewer along throughout all of the paces. You get the feeling that she is really concerned about your well-being.
This workout has been thoughtfully broken down into 2 levels, each about 25 minutes long so as not to over stress the body. Level 1, is pretty easy and serves as a sort of preparation/introductory level. While Level 2 is just a tad more challenging and optionally incorporates the use of hand weights in order to tone and sustain muscle mass while burning off the fat.
The workouts cover all the major muscle groups, and focuses on a safe, well-aligned, low-impact body workout that will generally improve your sense of well-being. Thanks Jane!
We got great results from her video and book program back in the 80s when we were much younger and much more flexibility. We find even with a challenging back problem this routine is simple to do and slow and steady wins the race. Fonda is a fitness leader once again providing a much needed workout program in the marketplace targeted at those not in peak condition, no longer 30-something but who who still want to maintain balance, a sense of fitness and overall energy.
