Jane and the Giant Poop Paperback – April 21, 2017

Purchase options and add-ons

Endorsed by experts at Mayo Clinic and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Jane and the Giant Poop is the funniest — and most educational — book written about healthy pooping. This clever rhyming book stars Jane, a karate enthusiast who hasn’t been her sunny self lately. When her giant poop clogs the toilet, Jane visits Dr. Pooper and learns why her belly has been aching. Soon, Jane becomes an expert about poop in all its shapes — pebbles, logs, globs, milkshakes, and cow patties. Her poop turns mush and then the toilet will flush! Coauthor Steve Hodges, M.D., is a pediatric urologist at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and an authority on constipation, potty training and bedwetting. He and parenting writer Suzanne Schlosberg are co-authors of three other acclaimed books: It’s No Accidents, Bedwetting and Accidents Aren’t Your Fault, and the The M.O.P. Book. Nobody illustrates poop with as much humor and creativity as artist Cristina Acosta. Jane and the Giant Poop will delight constipated children ages 3 to 10. Parents will learn a lot, too! All preschools and elementary school libraries should own this book.

I'm an artist and writer. Painting and color are my first loves among other passions. (I have a roomy heart with a lot of other loves.) My book, Paint Happy (2002, 2004, North Light Books, F+W) has been kicking it for over 2 decades, so I'm revising it for Summer 2023 release. Illustrating books the old-school analog way is fun (call me if you have a project). I love to cook, SUP paddle and travel in my Casita trailer with my bestie. No matter where I go, I mentally repaint the exteriors and interiors of buildings -- building architectural color groupings is a compulsion (I've been a color consultant for a couple of decades). Paintings, books and color schemes migrate through my mind waiting for me to give them all a chance. I hope I live long enough. Along with all things beautiful, I've been trying something new. I co-wrote my husband, Tolley Marney's memoir with him. It's a complex blend of dark and light - available Spring 2023.
