Undoubtedly - one of the best movies of the year. The movie is about life - choices, nature, spirituality, chimpanzees, and a wonderful autobiography of Jane Goodall who is a close to a "saint", as you can find in modern life. Her childhood, first xperience with animals, marriage, divorce, birth of a child, and of course, the life cycle of our closest primate ancestors truly moved and astonished me - and I thought I knew all there is to know about this extrraodinary women
Jane is an exceptional movie about the life of an extraordinary woman. The documentary deftly juxtaposes filmed interviews of Jane with the archival footage from Africa and England. It is a powerful true life story. It may be lost on younger viewers where women's accomplishments and access to both education and opportunities abound, but Jane Goodall began her research in a time when most colleges would not even allow women to attend Schools of Science or even Business. Jane Goodall was (and still is) a hero to many of us baby boomers growing up in the 1960's.
Great movie about Jane Goodall's journey. Footage was amazing. The feeling you were right there with her is amazing. There is some content that younger audiences may have trouble with (mating chimps and animals attacking one another). I closed my eyes as an adult, but 99.9% of the documentary was G rated. Overall 90 minutes well spent!
