I am not saying it is the best machine for sewing, but it sure has been great for learning and little project for the kids. It isn't crazy tough, so it can't sew though really thick fabric, it just doesn't have that torque power behind it, but also that is what keeps little fingers safe. It has sewn everything my child has needed, but if we are sewing a couple layers with thick elastic the machine might seem slow at first and then its fine.
Again, not an adult serious machine, but this is a real sewing machine that is great for learners. I wouldn't sew my clothes on it, but we my daughter has sown plenty of Halloween costumes, doll outfits, skirts, and more with it.

Within a week it was unusable due to faulty bobbin mechanism.
I read the manual, and watched troubleshooting videos for this model, and read tips from teachers using this model for beginners. Some work great, and they are gems. Many, not a few, many, are lemons that will never work reliably.
The bobbin carriage does not always turn fully, causing the needle to periodically strike hard plastic.
The top stitch frequently appears fine, only to reveal loose bird nesting underneath.
The bobbin often does not catch, even though threaded properly.
The top thread frequently breaks, regardless of tension settings.
Bobbin winder works flawlessly, it just becomes useless if you can't sew.
It is very light weight, and would be great for taking to classes (we did not buy it for that).
It has no light and that turned out to be problematic (no good natural light in sewing room), so bought stick on strip of led lights. An pretty good fix.
It is difficult to thread due to the finger guard but think it is worth the trade off.
It worked fine for 4 months of light use, but the bobbin won’t even turn now.
The sewing repair charges $90 to clean a machine. Think I may have wasted money buying this sewing machine.
I have found a Clover presser foot with finger guard that might work well on a nicer machine that doesn’t come with it.
I don’t recommend this Janome Fastlane Fusia Basic sewing machine.
