The ad for this embroidery machine is incorrect. The first item listed is "Real time PC connection with Horizon Link suite" This is incorrect. The Horizon Link software comes with the Janome MC12000 and MC15000. The MC14000 is not compatible with the drivers or the Horizon Link Suite in any way. I verified this by calling Janome directly.
The software included is AcuTool and it is junk. The Horizon Link software will allow you to monitor the progress of your embroidery live on your computer as it is being stitched. The AcuTool software does not. If you've ever done embroidery before you will know that this is a huge help if you ever need to back up and redo a section for any reason. With AcuTool you are guessing.
UPDATE - The seller for this item has been problematic at best. After receiving the machine and finding that there was no Horizon LInk, they lied and told me they would contact Janome and have it sent to me. That was when my wife took the machine out of the boxes and started using it. Because there are so many large boxes, I destroyed them. Trusting that the seller would make everything right.. After a couple of weeks, I called Janome. After finally getting through to their support I found out that Horizon Link will not work with the MC14000. I called the vendor and their solution was for me to drive cross country during the Covid Lockdown to bring the MC14000 back and they would sell me an MC15000, which definitely has Horizon Link. I decided that I shouldn't have to do this and I sent the machine back using Amazon's return system. The vendor charged me a 50% restocking fee (So, about $3600). I felt that false advertising and bait and switch tactics meant I was due the rest of the money back. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company, who has a very thorough process and in the end, I prevailed. However, it took about 5 months for it all to happen. So, be wary of this vendor. Make sure that their ads are correct before putting down $6500.
