You can download this for free from the JLPT site. Also it is listed as only 7 dollars. It is great help for the new 2010 N3 test since there are no previously released test with which to study with. It is basically just a practice test taken from the 2010 tests. Great for showing you what to expect.

Word to the thrifty, these practice exams are available for free as PDFs on the official JLPT website.

As official practice exams, these use the exact format of the test and include a CD for the listening portion. They are pretty great! There is no English in them. There is a foreword that talks about the JLPT and it's history and the appendices in the back provide some opportunity for additional practice at reading authentic Japanese. All Kanji outside the exam portion have furigana, so you won't need to consult your dictionary furiously if you're not already proficient in the Joyo Kanji.

Also includes a sample blank answer sheet in the back that you can photocopy to complete the simulation.

The usual preparation notebook, good for review, not so good for actual studying. Like most of JLPT materials, this one also lacks a comprehensive list of requirements and it is not a textbook to rely upon. You will need more source material, although you might be able to use it as a study guide.
