This book uses roomaji though, with only a chapter or two about kanji and kana, but it is still extreamly helpfull.
This is my favorite Japanese Grammar book.

I say this because the chapters are a little disjointed. This isn't a book that will hold your hand through steps A-B-C etc, but instead offers a overview of multiple topics to help broaden a students' learnt topics and understanding of each.
I would recommend this book for novices but not students entirely new to Japanese.
I have no idea who would be a good fit for this book - either you’re looking for basic Japanese, in which case you need a guided, lesson by lesson text book, or you’ve progressed to the point where guided textbooks are a cumbersome way to reference specific grammar, and you need a quick reference. If this was in lesson format it would be the first, if it was in hiragana/kanji/katakana then it could be the second. But unfortunately it is neither.
So frustrating to order this after much research only to realize in a few page flips it was useless. If only they had made a page of it available online. So I’m include a snapshot here.
